Kim to skip Dubai event, won't vie for $7.5M Wed, 04 Nov 2009 18:54:25 GMT Anthony Kim says he will not be going to the Dubai World Championship to compete for the $7.5 million bonus pool, even though the American has easily qualified. Kim reached the final of the World Match Play Championship last week in Spain before losing to Ross Fisher, allowing Kim to move up to No. 39 in the Race to Dubai standings on the European Tour. He already has played 11 events to meet the minimum required, assuring him a spot in the 60-man field to end the European season in two weeks.
PGA Tour suspends first ever golfer for PED use Mon, 02 Nov 2009 23:20:28 GMT The PGA Tour says Doug Barron has been suspended one year for using a performance-enhancing drug. He is the first player to violate the doping policy since testing began in July 2008. Barron has not played a full PGA Tour schedule since 2006 and competed only four times on the Nationwide Tour this year. The 40-year-old golfer apologized Monday in a statement through the tour, saying he did not intend to gain an unfair advantage. The tour declined further comment.
