Mt grandaughter loves unicorns, totally and utterly so when I stumbled across this absolutely divine image Mystic by Crissy Armstrong well ….. the card all but made itself.  Love love love how this one turned out especially as there are no frilly frou-frou’s on there lol.The unicorn was so easy to colour, I used C1, 0, 00 for his body and B91 for the shading.  For the mane I used BG49, 13, 11, 10 and again a touch of B91 for the shading.  Then I gave the mane and his horn and hooves a dab of Wink of Stella for some sparkle.I rubbed some Cracked Pistachio and Brocken China Distress Oxide ink through the Formal Lattice Stencil in the bottom corner, and die cut a star shape from the Pierced Stars die set into that layer for the shaker part, I love the pierced holes around the outside.  I used Broken China to make a background to behind the star and used the Star Galazy Stencil and some glimmer paste to add some bling to that.  Some sequins for extra sparkle because all little girls need sparkle I die cut some clouds and stars from glitter card for some extra texture and interest and finished the  card off with a heat embossed sentiment from the You’re My Favorite stamp set.Ava loved her card.Whimsy Stamps products used:    [...]

Water Garden Girl

There are two new Marina Fedotova stamps that have been released by Whimsy Stamps this month, one a fairy and the other this darling little Water Garden Girl.  So, so sweet.I coloured her with copic markers:Hair: E50 , 53, 25 Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20 Dress & Flowers: R59, 85, 81, RV000 Goldfish: YR24, 31, 30 Leaves: G29, 03, 20 Water: BG000, 0000 I used words from the new You’re my favorite stamp set, I stamped this onto a round doily die cut from Tattered Lace.  The square the image is on is also by Tattered Lace.  I managed to pick up three full sets for £30 on a promotion a couple of months back, I love me a bargain I used some old My Minds Eye papers, I have so many of these pads that have never even been unsealed!  My bad.  I finished off the card with some mulberry flowers, lace, DooHickey dragonfly die cut and some distressed organza ribbon.Products used from Whimsy Stamps: [...]

It’s new release time at Whimsy Stamps and there’s a smorgasbord to choose from this month – from the sweetest new fairies and fun stencils as well as the amazing new DoveArt stamps.  Yes, DoveArt is now with Whimsy Stamps!!  Annnd, you may even spot one or two of Crissy’s penguins, so pop on over to the website to take a peek.  I’ve linked the products used on my shabby chic card at the end of the post.  I’ve used one of the new sentiment stamp sets and stencil.I sponged some FlitterGlu through the stencil and once it was dry (which happened uber fast) I applied some gold foil to the glue.  It’s the first time I’ve attempted this and I really love the result.I used mulberry flowers for this one, I have boxes of them and really do need to start using some of my stockpile up.Products used from Whimsy Stamps:  Back Sunday with a new fairy card 😉[...]

Flower Fairy

I’ve a Flower Fairy card today, I love these little sweeties so hard.  I pulled out papers from my scraps box, and colour her up to match using copic markers, and finished it off with some foamiran flowers and clay berries and a sentiment from one of my favourite sentiment sets.  I’ll link all the products at the end of the post. So, I made a note of the colours I used then …..yup, you guess it, threw the darn thing out when I was clearing my desk.  I’m pretty sure these are the colours I used.Hair: E50, 21, 25, 29 Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20 Peach: R000, 00, 12, 24 Green: G20, YG03, 63, 67 Wings: Y0000, YR30 Stars: YR24, 31, 30I added some Wink of Stella to her clothes and hair, and distress glitter to her wings and stars. The berries are made using clay.  The flowers were made using the Peony Flower die as well as a 5 petal punch set that I’ve had for years.  The calyxes are hand cut from squares of green foamiran.Whimsy Stamps products:    [...]

Sending Hugs

I’m back with a shabby(ish) card, I really do love this style.  I used the fabulous Lattice Background stamp from Whimsy Stamps again, this time I heat embossed right over patterned paper.  Oh, and excuse the darn glue string, I just spotted it whilst writing this post, off to hunt the pesky thing down now lol.I stamped and heat embossed the large shamrock stamp from the Shamrock Wishes stamp set, which is the CAS set for January, onto some vellum and cut it up into three heart shaped pieces which I used behind the flowers and leaves.I picked up the dinky little bottles (already filled) from The Range, IIRC they were £1 for a pack of 8 – total bargain!I printed out a sentiment from my digital Vintage Sentiments available at the Whimsy Stamps store and popped in some bling behind and around the flowers because …. bling!Products from Whimsy Stamps: [...]

Friends Always

Whimsy Stamps included a fabulous lattice background stamp and coordinating Background Buddies stamps in the newest release (links at the bottom of the post).  I used the butterfly buddy stamp at each intersection on the lattice.  Love, love, love how this turned out!

I heat embossed the stamping with white embossing powder, the sentiment was stamped onto vellum then mounted onto a piece of plain kraft card to help it pop off the card.  I used a set of stitched dies I picked up from Ebay last year to make the base and layer of the card.  I think the stitching works really well with the lattice.
A few mulberry flowers and some die cut leaves and job done.

Fairy Wishes

Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps January release, and today it’s all about the fairies!  Love love LOVE these little sweeties and was over the moon happy that Whimsy Stamps are now going to be stocking them in foam mounted red rubber.  There are three that have been released this month, but do keep yer eyes peeled because there is so much more goodness to come.I coloured the image with copics: Skin: E13, 11, 01, 000, R20 Hair: E44, 42, 40 Pink: R83, 81, RV000, 0000 Blue: BG75, 72, 70 Bunny & Bells: C3, 1, 000, 0000 I added some Ranger Distress Glitter to the wings, wand and bells.  Oh and the flowers too.I die cut some glitter stars and leaves to add a bit more sparkle, because … bling!  The sentiment is from the January CAS (Customer Appreciation Stamps program)I have more fairy cards that I’ll be sharing in the coming weeks.Whimsy Stamps products used:  [...]

Fun with Twinkling H2O’s

Happy New Year!  I truly hope 2018 is going to be our best year yet (I know, I say it every year but we gotta live in hope, right? lol)It’s new release time at Whimsy Stamps and there’s a smorgasbord to choose from this month – from the sweetest new fairies, background stamps and fun stencils as well as sentiment sets and super cute images ……. can you say penguin?!?  So pop on over to the website to take a peek.  I’ve linked the products used at the end of the post.I’ll be featuring one of the fairies tomorrow, but for now I’ve make a jewel toned card using of of the new stencils, a new set of sentiment stamps and I even dug out and blew off the dust of my Twinkling H2O’s to make the background for my card.  Go me!I started off the background with embossing paste through the Flower Flourish stencil, poured over gold embossing powder whilst the paste was still wet and set it aside to dry for a couple hours.  Only then did I heat emboss it to set the powder, this way the paste was already dry so didn’t bubble up.  Then I set to with three Twinkling H2O colours and had fun.  I used to love getting inky but somehow over the years lost sight of this once I started in with copic markers.  I’m so glad I now have the time to do this more often.I finished off the card with some mulberry flowers and a sentiment from the You’re My Always stamp set which I mounted behind a clay frame.Products used from Whimsy Stamps  [...]

The last one … promise! And a video too

Okay, so I told porkies in my previous post.  This card is definitely my last Christmas card for 2017 and I’ve done a video to go with it too.  This card is similar to the Blue Christmas card I did a few weeks back.  I had a fair few requests asking if I would shoot a video to show how I put it together so here’s what I came up with.I’ve used more of the exquisite digital papers from Whimsy Stamps that’ve been designed by Tracy.  Love, love, love this gorgeous shabby patterns.  I’ll pop the links to the products and also the video at the end of the post.  I went with a poinsettia and some mini roses for this card rather than the hellebore so both cards weren’t identical.  There are videos on my channel for the Poinsettia tutorial and also the Easy Foamiran Roses tutorial. I also changed up the sentiment and used one of my all time favourite sentiment and die sets – The Happy Sayings Die and coordinating stamp set.Lots of glitter on this one.  I really do love making Christmas cards, total glitter overload lol.And here’s the video allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="" frameborder="0" height="520" src="" width="640">Whimsy Stamps products used:Lily Flower Die Set Peony Flower Die Set White Foamiran Whimsy Stamps Leaf Foilage Die Set 1 Happy Sayings Die Set Happy Sayings sentiment stamps A Wintry Glow Digital Papers Now I’m definitely signing out for a few days, have a wonderful Christmas![...]

Merry Christmas

My last Christmas card for this year, and my last post as a guest designer for Love to Craft and Create.  The time has flown, and I’ve had such fun being a part of Monika’s design team.  I’ve met some wonderful people, attended some amazing workshops with the ever welcoming Monika and supremely talented Ewa Constancja.  I’ve gone with very non-traditional colours using some Lemoncraft papers.  See, I had this pale pink poinsettia sat on my desk for weeks and had no clue what papers to put it with till I came across this fabulous paper pad and I was sold!   Some die cuts, lots and lots of glitter and I was totally in my happy place.I kept the small flowers white to show off the gold stamens and coloured the poinsettia with soft oil pastels. The foliage is all die cut from the Christmas Branches die set from Whimsy Stamps.  I think the sentiment is a Studio Light die, in fact I’m pretty sure it is, and the snowflake doily is by Wild Rose Design.I love how this one turned out Products used from Love to Craft and Create:Lemoncraft Basic Christmas Greetings paper pad White FoamiranGallery Artists Soft Oil Pastels I would like to wish you and yours the most wonderful Christmas, make many happy and special memories.  I’ll be back next week with the new Whimsy Stamps release and oh my goodness, it’s absolutely amazing!!  [...]

Whimsy Stamps December Release previews

It's time for the December release at Whimsy Stamps. Each month from the 1st through the 5th, a few new sets from both the rubber and clear stamp lines along with new dies. Then on the 7th, everything will be available to purchase in the Whimsy Stamps store.Today I’m showcasing the Cupid Cutie clear stamp set and have made two very different cards using some fab digital papers.  The first card is my usual shabby and girlie, and I’ve used the Shabby Woods and I Dream in Christmas digital papers. The second card is so not my usual style but I’m really happy with how it turned out.  One for me to bear in mind for those difficult blokes cards.  I used the stamp set and matching dies and also gingham from the Christmas Ginghams digital paper pack.  I die cut the shaped rectangle using the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles dies (love this set so much!)Whimsy products used (new stamps and dies links will be added once they’re live on the 7th)      There is also a fab promotion running at the moment, the picture below is linked for all the details[...]

Merry and bright

I’ve moved back to vintage for today’s Christmas card using some fabulous Lemoncraft  papers from Love to Craft and Create.   The links to the products from Love to Craft and Create are at the end of the post.I made a foamiran poinsettia using the Lily Flower Die Set from Whimsy Stamps and some red foamiran.  You can check out the video of how I made this flower on my You Tube Channel here.  The colour of the foam is so rich I didn’t need to add any colour to enhance it.  Some berries and die cut leaves and some white berries  oh, and a couple of polystyrene stars from The Range and job done.I made a frame using a Spellbinders die to help the sweet image stand out.  A sentiment from the Holiday Mini Sentiments stamp set from Whimsy Stamps fitted perfect on the bottom of the frame.  I love this stamp set, the size is just so perfect for those tricky, small spaces that need a sentiment.Products from Love to Craft and Create: Lemoncraft Christmas Carols paper pad Lemoncraft Christmas Vintage Time Sheet 3 White Pomegranate Apples Deep Red Jute TwineProducts from Whimsy Stamps: Lily Flower Die Set  Holiday Mini Sentiments[...]

Blue Christmas

It’s been a while since I used digi papers but when I saw the new digi papers at Whimsy Stamps it was love at first sight.  SO my colours and style.  Total love!I made some Hellebores from foamiran – man I love this stuff!  I have tons and tons of mulberry flowers that I really should use but I can’t leave the foamy stuff alone lol.  The silver fringy centre in the small helebore is cut from the Hellebore Flower die set, and before heating it till it curled I gave the fringing a coat of silver acrylic paint.  I need to experiment more, I think the fringe will be fab for daisy centres too.I die cut a couple circle frames because I didn’t want to cover up the gorgeous paper with doilies and stuff, this way the paper is all still visible.  A change for me cuz I tend to cover everything up when I get totally carried awayI added some glitter holly leaves and some pearlescent green leaves (out with the old sparkly paint again) and some berries.Love these icy colours, makes such a lovely change from my very traditional reds, golds and greens.Products used from Whimsy Stamps     [...]

It’s definitely all things Christmas in my craft room, it’s like a glitter explosion in there.  I made the foamiran hellebores using my newest Hellebore Flower Die from Whimsy Stamps along with some new leaf additions to my die cutting stash. The stamens started life off white, but I gave them a coat of gold paint so they would tie in with the rest of the card.I dug out one of the few Magnolia die kits I treated myself to last year.  I stopped buying them after 3, I just could not justify the cost of the kit, given that you’ve no clue what you’re paying for or getting AND you have to prepay months in advance. Totally ridiculous!  The bauble on today’s card is the first die I’ve used from that kit!  I know right?  Eek - total overspend there methinks, they sure saw me coming. 🙄 I die cut the JOY from a Spellbinders alphabet set.  I forgot just how much I love mirror card for Christmas cards.Products used from Love to Craft and CreateWhite 1mm stamens White pearl stamens White Foamiran Lemoncraft Christmas Carols Ephemera Cards Lemoncraft Christmas Carols 12 x 12 Pad[...]

Jingle Bells

I really do love digging out all the Christmas embellies and papers, sparkle and bling.  So whilst I had a holy mess in my craft room last weekend I made up some more gift tags for special pressies.Ginghams and plaids are so perfect for Christmas, and I even got to use up bits and bobs from my scraps boxes.  Ugh, I’ve just spotted a glue string, need to go pull that off before I forget!I knew those little pine cones I collect on my walks would come in handy!  I added some twine, berries, bells and glitter along with some mulberry poinsettias that I picked up from Hobbycraft.I had a production line going with these mini tags/cards and got a whole bunch done.I’m off to hunt down that glue string lol.Whimsy Stamps products used:  [...]

Meowy Kitty-mas!

I really do love Crissy Armstrong’s animals, she manages to capture the innocence along with the cuteness overload.  And she’s done that in spades with this stamp set Meowy Kitty-mas from Whimsy Stamps.  I kept to traditional red and white with a touch of silver and green for today’s card. Can you say cute!?!  I coloured the image with prismacolor pencils and didn’t blend the kitty to give the look of fur.I made the poinsetia using my Lily Flower die and foamiran and used a silver cabachon for the centre.  I cut the mistletoe branches from glitter card and finished off the arrangement with some twine that I bought from Hobbycraft and some silver and white berries. That’s another Christmas card added to the pile Just click on the thumbnails to go to the products used at Whimsy Stamps   [...]

Forever Friends

Shabby and pink, I’m SO in my happy place!  I made the large pale pink flower and the berries and buds at the last workshop I attended in Nottingham.  We had a fabulous weekend hosted by Monika from Love to Craft and Create and taught by Ewa Constancja – so very talented! The clematis I made using my Lily Flower Die from Whimsy Stamps, and the little white flowers are from a Craft Passion Die.  I’ll have all the links at the end of the post.I wanted the hearts to match the embossed sentiment so gave them a coat of Starlights Silver Paint by Imagination Crafts, I then painted some card and die cut some little sprigs to tie in the arrangement.  Man I LOVE that paint!  The glisten and glimmer is dazzling!  I carried the dazzle through to the chipboard frame and gave that a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Glitter (another absolute favourite!)I love getting back to my comfort zone, and this is definitely one of those cards.  I’ve been so darn poorly again, I had the mother of all flare ups after being inadvertently glutened, my gut was so not happy and I ended up with anaemia again.  Couple this with a cold that turned into a chest infection and shingles and yeah, I haven’t been too grand.  Hopefully with new treatment I’ll soon be back up to speed. One more of the flowers because I just love them!  I get a lot of emails about the “curly stuff” I use in my flower arrangements, on this card I used waxed cord (that’s in the links below).  It’s fab stuff because the waxing helps the cord to hold it’s curl.Products used:Love to Craft and Create:-Lemoncraft Christmas Carols paper pad Craft & You Design Vintage Time paper pad Craft Passion Flower Set 03 Scrapiniec Fantasma Round Frames Sparkly Flower Centre White FoamiranWhimsy Stamps:Happy HeadlinesLily Flower Die Set Leaf Foliage 1 Leaf Foliage 2 [...]

Christmas Bell and Hellebores

I’m back with another preview for the November Whimsy Stamps release of clear and rubber stamps as well as dies.  The new release will be live in the Whimsy Store on the 7th, until then the DT are showcasing the new goodies.Today I’m showcasing the Hellebore Flower Die Set, and I went Christmassy for my project.  My bestest bud in the whole world is Christmas crazy so this one is for herI covered the MDF bell (that my hubster cut for me from a pattern I found on Pinterest) with Prima paper that I’ve had a while.  I added a doily die cut then some foamiran hellebores, some berries, little pine cones and foilage.   I picked up some fake snow at The Range and used that on the arrangement to give a frosty look.  Love this stuff!I love that this will be a keepsake that she can put on her tree every year.Products used from Whimsy Stamps:   [...]

Then on the 7th, everything will be available to purchase in the Whimsy Stamps store.Today I’m showcasing the Happy Headlines stamp set along with the new Hellebore Flower Die and Foilage 1 & 2 Die Sets.  I designed the Hellebore Flower Die Set to include the fringing to act as the stamens, as I’ve used them in the pictures below along with a berry.  I used a Wow Platinum embossing powder for the sentiment and also on the chipboard frame. The sublime paper is by Indiko, I’ve had it quite a while and could never bring myself to cut in to it.New Whimsy Stamps products used:   Back tomorrow with a Christmassy post featuring the Hellebore Flower Die Set.[...]

31 Nights of Halloween–Night 26

It’s been a month of Halloween fun over on the Whimsy Stamps blog. I decided not to make a card as I don’t celebrate Halloween, but my grandkids do.  So after scouring Pinterest I decided to make up a simple little bag to pop some sweeties in.  I used the Sleepy Hollow Stamp set and matching Sleepy Hollow Die set, along with the fab Haunted Halloween Digital Papers to make my little gift bag.The scarecrow is so easy to colour! My granddaughter saw this and came along the next day to make some little gift bags for her friends.  Winner winner chicken dinner, I got to spend some crafty time with my precious girl and she got some halloween goodies sorted.  I love that child so hard 💖 I think I’m going to make some of these up for Christmas to pop my homemade fudge and caramelised pecans in.Hope you check out the Whimsy blog, there's been some amazing inspiration and give-aways this month.[...]

You’re the best

Hello everyone, I'm back with another shabby chic card, using the beautiful lilac paper from the UKH Gallery Provence pad.I made some foamiran flowers and little blueberries.  The large flowers are made from the Whimsy Stamps Peony Flower Die set, the little white flowers are from  Joycrafts 6002/0068 ~ Square Flower dies and the others are made from Craft Passion dies (links below)I didn’t have a green card that matched the paper for the leaves, so I roughly painted some card with diluted green acrylic paint, dried then die cut.  Job done 😊I bought the resin angel from a lady on Facebook a while back. The scalloped square is from a Tattered Lace die set and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiments setProducts from Love to Craft and CreateUKH Gallery Provence paper pad Matt Stamens 1mm – Moulin Rouge Scarpiniec Monograce Layered Round Frames Craft Passion Flowers Set 03 Craft Passion Flowers Set 01 Foamiran White Gallery Artists’ Soft Pastels [...]

Poinsettias and Hellebores

I went to the foamiran workshop organised by Monika from Love to Craft and Create and taught by Ewa Constancja last weekend.  It. Was. Fantastic!  It truly was.We made Poinsettias from dies (Tim Holtz and Craft Passions), learned how to make those sweet little berries, and made mistletoe and holly sans dies - these were all hand cut. Here's some of my efforts, and if this is what I can make whilst poorly with a cold and the (unknown) start of shingles I can't wait to get well and be let loose in my craft room again.  Back on Sunday with a new card.[...]

Country Christmas

I love Kraft, red and white together, it gives such a lovely country look to the card.  I’ve used the beautiful Snow Flurry set and Holiday Word Die set from the latest Whimsy Stamps release and kept it simple with some heat embossing, gingham ribbon and enamel dots, finished off with a couple of bells.  I cut the word dies 3 times and glued them together so they would stand a bit proud of the card. And job done, I’ve made a whole batch of these – my 2017 Christmas card pile is coming along nicely!Whimsy products used   [...]
