Getting used to it

2017-06-04T07:37:09.565-03:00

As I write, six members of the public are dead, and three attackers. I'm wary of weighing in as the situation is unfolding, but, though the details are always different, in the end the story is always the same. And, as I said only the other day, the reality of what is happening in Britain and Europe is that this problem was imported and that, until you stop importing it, you're going to have more of it.
... it's unfortunate that the London carnage occurred before Katy Perry, Justin Bieber & Co had had a chance to hold their stupid, useless, poor-taste all-you-need-is-sentimentalist-delusional-crap pop concert for the victims of the Manchester carnage. Maybe they'll cancel it, or maybe they'll make it a twofer.
https://www.steynonline.com/7885/a-lot-more-than-london-bridge-is-falling-down

Yesterday,  I attended the convocation of our youngest daughter at Dalhousie University. During his introductory address, the President of the university said that since this was happening during the month of Ramadan, he wished all Muslim students all our best during the month. This was followed by a hearty round of applause from the several hundred people in attendance. I refused to clap. I have never heard a shout-out given to Lent or Advent or Yom Kippur. Why the preferential treatment of Muslims?

It is all conciliatory. Everyone is scared stiff to offend Muslims and, in some effort to prevent a potential attack, they think that bending over backwards in advance might pre-empt such an attack.

How stupid is that? It is time to stand up to this advancing battle that will soon be in our streets of North  America just as it is now in the streets of Europe. Conciliatory  gestures will get us  nowhere. They are, in fact, the behaviour of people who have already accepted their position of d'himmitude.

As Steyn says:
the reality of what is happening in Britain and Europe is that this problem was imported and that, until you stop importing it, you're going to have more of it.

Mark Steyn interviews authors of Gosnell

The trial that no one covered. The mass murderer in Philadelphia who was only found guilty of 7 murders, because to charge him with more would up the murder rate in Philadelphia to embarrassing levels.

The book is now out and the movie will soon be released. I am guessing that it won't get much more coverage than the trial did.

There's Diversity for you

2017-03-29T10:23:04.771-03:00

As Daniel Greenfield says:

Masood’s victims were certainly diverse. The men and women he ran over or pushed off Westminster Bridge included Brits, Americans, Romanians, Greeks, Chinese, South Koreans, Italians, Irish, Portuguese, Polish and French. That is the new form that diversity takes in the more multicultural cities.
The victims are diverse. The killers are Muslim.

And Canada passes a law to curtail Islamophobia. Justin Trudeau, leader of the uber-tolerant Left, is keeping true to his profile: air-head in chief.

Anti-Semitism on the rise

2017-03-02T11:59:17.821-04:00

Jews in Europe have been advised not to wear any outward signs of their Jewish heritage in order to keep safe. This means taking off the kippah or yamulke, a distinctive hat that orthodox Jewish men wear; girls are advised not to wear the Star of David around their necks.

It is a dramatic phenomenon: first, the kippah disappears in the streets, then the Jews themselves flee these societies. 40,0000 Jews have left France in the last fifteen years, one-tenth of the whole French population. In the tolerant, liberal and democratic West, where Muslim minorities have become more and more assertive, Jews have become more and more “invisible.”

Even in Finland, where a small but historic Jewish community has always lived in peace, the Jewish community has issued a directive asking its members not to wear the kippah in public. In Malmö, Sweden, the situation is even more dramatic: the Jews there live like Christians in Mosul.

We have already had one holocaust in our history; we must not have another.
But people are simply not paying attention, because the 'progressive agenda' is telling them not to worry, when in actual fact they and we are acting like dhimmis before the advance of Islam.

Muslim rape slavery in Montreal

There seems to be a problem embedding the video from YouTube so I can just post the link.

A Muslim migrant has raped 10 teen-aged girls and is in prison for, wait for it, a grand total of two years.

The story buried in a Montreal newspaper, Ezra Levant of The Rebel won't let it be hidden there.

It is amazing how people simply deny what is happening. Afraid to be called "racist", they bow to the progressive mindset of accepting all cultures as morally equal. Unfortunately, the truth will be learned through violence.

Mark Steyn has been on top of this for a decade, but no one is listening.

Well, perhaps Donald Trump is.

You know something's wrong when .....

2017-02-18T13:50:53.986-04:00

.... when your liberal friends say they appreciate the statements of this Pope.... when the Pope seems to be more concerned with matters of the world than matters of the spirit, e.g. speeches about harming the environment and practically nothing about sexual sins and abortion.... when stories emerge of Pope Francis' rants inside the Vatican.... when devoted Catholics feel marginalized by this pontiffThe list goes on. Some of the latest include the Pope's language on abortion, substitution "interruption of pregnancy" for the word abortion, his statements that all religions are religions of peace when evidence abounds to show the opposite, when he said we should confess the sin of 'littering', when orthodox clergy are demoted and clergy who share the Pontiff's worldview are put in their stead.I have provided some quotes and links below.A few months ago, I included in my daily prayer journal a prayer for the ending of this papacy. I am not wishing for Francis' death or demise, but I am asking God to somehow intervene to stop Francis' influence on the church.  Because he is causing dismay, he is creating confusion, and he is undermining the authority of the Catholic church............February 7, 2017 (Voice of the Family) – Pope Francis has marked the “day for life” in Italy by adopting the abortion lobby’s euphemism “interruption of pregnancy” in place of language that accurately describes the killing of unborn children. In his message the Holy Father does speak some welcome words, encouraging “courageous educational action in favour of human life” and reminding the gathered crowds that “every life is sacred”. Unfortunately rather than refer to abortion he adopts terminology used by the abortion industry. In fact, the form of words used by Pope Francis is specifically condemned by Pope John Paul II in his encyclical letter Evangelium Vitae:https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/pope-francis-marks-pope-francis-marks-day-for-life-with-abortion-language-cSomali Muslim migrant Mohammad Barry in February 2016 stabbed multiple patrons at a restaurant owned by an Israeli Arab Christian; Ahmad Khan Rahami, an Afghan Muslim migrant, in September 2016 set off bombs in New York City and New Jersey; Arcan Cetin, a Turkish Muslim migrant, in September 2016 murdered five people in a mall in Burlington, Washington; Dahir Adan, another Somali Muslim migrant, in October 2016 stabbed mall shoppers in St. Cloud while screaming “Allahu akbar”; and Abdul Razak Artan, yet another Somali Muslim migrant, in November 2016 injured nine people with car and knife attacks at Ohio State University. 72 jihad terrorists have come to the U.S. from the countries listed in Trump’s immigration ban. What’s more, all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe. In spreading this nonsense, the Pope is endangering his own people, particularly in light of the papal idolatry that is rampant in the Catholic Church today.https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/02/pope-francis-migrations-are-not-a-danger-they-are-a-challenge-for-growthFor human beings to “destroy the biological diversity of God’s creation,” to “degrade the integrity of the earth by causing changes in its climate,” to “contaminate the earth’s waters, its land, its air, and its life–these are sins,” he wrote.Amo[...]

Canadian Abortion Stats

2017-02-02T13:02:31.600-04:00

Kudos to blogger Pat Maloney who keeps the blog http://run-with-life.blogspot.ca/

Pat has been digging into government statistics for years, writing to sitting politicians to obtain the facts, and she has been persistent in holding them to account for transparency with the people they claim to represent.

Pat found out that the Ontario government had excluded abortion stats from their annual reporting on medical procedures and she set out to discover why. After all, we have the Freedom of Information Act in Canada, and since we pay for all abortions with our tax dollars, we certainly have a right to know where that money is being spent.

Yesterday Pat got this information from the Ontario government.

45,471 abortions were done in Ontario in 2014/2015

The year 2014/15 is actually one year, from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015.

This number is obtained from OHIP billings, so all of those abortions were paid for by our taxes.

However, previous information from the government revealed that there were only 23,746 abortions for the year 2014. So the actual number of abortions is practically double what was previously reported.

Keep in mind that Stats Canada lists the number of abortions across the country as pretty close to 100,000 per year. And that does not include abortions done at private clinics, as well as a couple of provinces that simply do not report their abortion numbers to Statistics Canada.

You have to wonder what the actual number of abortions is across the country. Because if Ontario is having that number (half the given total), you can be sure that it exceeds 100,000 when you add in provinces like Quebec and BC.

Thanks to Pat for her diligence in this.

Politically Incorrect Witnessing

2017-02-01T10:50:39.944-04:00

The news from Quebec is terrible and the loss of lives is truly regrettable. Our condolences and our prayers go with the victims of this assault on innocent people. May their families find peace after this tragedy that robbed them of their loved ones.

The bulletin from the archdiocese this week expressed Archbishop Mancini's condolences; this will be especially close to him as he has been a life-long resident of Quebec.

http://www.halifaxyarmouth.org/index.php/item/archbishop-mancini-s-comments-on-the-mosque-shooting

So here is the but. You knew it was coming.

AB Mancini attended a vigil at Halifax's Grand Parade for the victims and their families. Estimates of those who attended are in the 1000 range, that is a lot of people for a Halifax vigil.

I would ask why hasn't the Archbishop ever attended a vigil for the victims of abortion? There are close to 100,000 of them each year in Canada. He has been asked and he has declined; he has never been present at any pro-life public event. Nor have many of the priests of the diocese. I can count on one hand the clergy who have come out to Life Chain, or 40 Days for Life, or for the March for Life.

The Catholic Church teaches that abortion is an intrinsic evil.

Of all the crimes against humanity mentioned by the Second Vatican Council, including racism and anti-Semitism, two were singled out as “unspeakable crimes”: abortion and infanticide (Gaudium et Spes, 51).
To say that an action is intrinsically illicit is to say that, when committed, it is always evil. There is no circumstance that could ever render the act morally good, or even morally neutral. Abortion is such an intrinsically evil act.
And yet, our clergy do not come out for vigils for the unborn.

I know the reason. It is politically incorrect. No one will ever criticize the Archbishop for attending a vigil for people killed in an assault on a mosque. But should he ever stand publicly as a witness for pre-born life, he would be vilified by the media and certainly excoriated by the feminists.

Our poor weak clergy, who cannot even take the scorn of society when it comes to the issue of abortion, how are they ever going to lead us when things get even tougher?

Worrisome News for the West

2017-01-31T13:08:44.637-04:00

The outcry against President Trump's executive order that temporily curtails immigration to the US is being stoked by the sentimental feelings of tolerance and diversity. What people fail to see is that there is a very real danger to western society from the migration of Muslim peoples to the west. There is not a shared belief in our way of life; those fleeing the middle east do not hold the same views on personal liberty as Americans. Donald Trump has every right to protect the American borders from the threat of Islamic violence.People simply do not see and will not admit that there is a clash of civilizations coming. Most North Americans haven't a clue of the problems that Europeans are now facing as a result of accepting large numbers of refugees from Syria. Malmo Sweden is now known as the 'rape capitol' of Europe. Germany has seen a dramatic uptick in sexual assaults on women by Muslim men. And it is coming here, unless we stand firm and say not on our watch. We need to be concerned citizens of the world, but it is useless to be naive and think that you can just let thousands of Muslim people enter your country and that they will assimilate. History shows that this is a culture that does not wish to assimilate and, when they are in sufficient numbers, their belief is that they are to dominate the nation they live in.A cursory read of news items this morning yields a disturbing storyline.http://pamelageller.com/2017/01/loud-islamic-call-prayer-inside-dallas-fort-worth-airport-muslims-take-time-protest-pray-chant-allah.html/I have been in this very area in Dallas airport. Keeping our hearts free from hate

2017-01-23T15:21:01.245-04:00

This is the week that will see the extraordinary March for Life in Washington DC. Half a million people will converge on the US capitol to show their solidarity for life in the womb. This past weekend saw the March for Women in the very same city, a march that was headlined by people like Madonna and Ashley Judd, spouting vulgarities that should make women ashamed. The March for Women was supported and funded by people like George Soros, a man who is intent on breaking the fabric of the Judaeo-Christian society.Women's groups who are pro-life were excluded from last Saturday's march.http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/01/21/pro-life-feminist-group-excluded-dc-womens-march-washingtonStudents for Life were also excluded from the march, but they managed to run ahead and get at the front of the march with this sign.http://studentsforlife.org/pro-lifers-at-the-womens-march/img_9377/The facts are that the March for Women was touted as a march for women's equality, but the issues of abortion and lesbian rights took precedence. It was not a march to protest Donald Trump's mysogyny, but a march to ensure that Planned Parenthood does not get de-funded.I think it is very telling that the leaders of such a march are women who are aging:  Madonna, Gloria Steinem, Jane Fonda. A couple of years ago, NARAL recognized the discrepancy between pro-choice and pro-life women in the age demographic:3) Admitting that the pro-abortion movement is losing support among young people, pro-abortion NARAL President Nancy Keenan recently submitted her resignation to allow a younger president to conduct youth outreach. Commenting on the March for Life she lamented, “There are so many of them, and they are so young.” [3]http://marchforlife.org/reasons-for-hope/What is most disturbing to me, however, is the animosity shown between the two sides. Anger spews forth from both sides, but it seems to be mostly coming from the left progressive side. While Trump may have spoken lewdly, it does not speak well of his opponents when they stoop to the obscene signs and language that was commonplace at Saturday's march. It is worth remembering that there were no protests against Bill Clinton, a convicted rapist and serial cheater, because Clinton protected the right to abortion. Trump is a threat against that sacred cow.As a Christian, I must maintain a heart that is protected from such vitriol. The solution to our society's woes will not be found in politics, although Christians are called to be active agents to better society. But hoping that human beings in power will bring about justice and rights for all is delusional. A society is only as good as the individuals who comprise it.Here’s what it also clarifies, in light of my political friend’s words above: the nature of the challenge facing Christians in the wake of a culture capable of this sort of thing. We could find it easy to surrender our principles in the face of terrible things Trump does, because of wrath provoked by our enemies’ malice, and to therefore refuse to criticize or even to judge him, because we don’t want to give his enemies any quarter. I felt that way this weekend after first seeing and hearing what some were saying at the women’s march in Washington. It’s a dangerous state of mind to be in. Plus, if we allow ourselves to be sucked into the cyclone, we could find it easy to allow ourselves to become what so many of those on the left have become: so consumed by hatred — a hatred that they call justice — that they cannot see the humanity of any who oppose them.Whatever else the Benedict Option sets out to do, it looks like one vital part of its mission will be to train Christians to love our enemies, and to bless those that persecute us. To do so is going to require withdrawing from the cycle [...]

Thoughts on Abortion

2017-01-21T14:51:14.916-04:00

I had dinner with a friend last evening, a woman whose acquaintance I made because of our shared interest in the pro-life movement. She is a Christian woman who made some very hard choices when she was much younger. She had not one, but two, out-of-wedlock pregnancies, and in both cases she chose to carry her babies to term. I have tremendous respect for what she did, it took incredible courage to do this, not once but twice as I said.Over the past two years, she has become increasingly aware of the extent of abortion in our society and it troubles her deeply. She sees this primarily as a spiritual issue: that is, the evil one is intent on destroying God's creation and women are being deeply harmed by their choice to kill their children. As is often the case, the things that are simmering in my mind over the day don't really come to light until I wake in the middle of the night and there they are: circling round and round in my head, disturbing my sleep, and causing grief. And grief it was.Yesterday, I read a blog by an African American woman who was relating that the exit by the Obamas from the White House was a deeply sorrowful time for her. I understand that, I know that this is hard for her and for many Americans. What I cannot understand is her statements about being a Christian and even calling upon the name of Jesus Christ and then in another line stating that she will support the women's march for bodily autonomy and that she will support Planned Parenthood.I am sorry, but you cannot say that you are Christian and be a supporter of abortion. Call it what it is: abortion is not a woman's right to make choices for her own body, it is the deliberate ending of a distinct human life that happens to reside inside your body. What part of the fifth commandment does she not understand?I debated whether or not to post a comment on her blog; in retrospect I think I should not have. However I did, something to the effect that I couldn't support women's rights over their bodies when they deny the rights of the fetus to his/her body. I didn't really expect a reply but I got one. I got a rebuff and that was what woke me in the night. I was told that she knew my views on this subject and that she didn't wish to hear them at this time, that the only time I seemed to comment was when it was this subject (not true by the way).It was the straw that broke the camel's back. I came undone. It brought me to tears and I tried to understand why. And then I realised what had happened.Over the past ten years, I have felt more and more marginalised because of my pro-life beliefs. I began to be active in the pro-life movement in 2005 and in 2008, I actually closed down my internet business in order to lead the 40 Days for Life vigil here in Halifax. My life changed dramatically. Beginning in 2005, I read everything I could lay my hands on, I went to every pro-life discussion, I started a pro-life group in my church, my activities became centered around this issue. I was convinced that people needed to know about this, just as I had needed to know about this. But then the rejections began. At first, they didn't bother me. The overall apathy of the clergy to the 40 Days vigil became the norm; I was at first surprised but then came to just accept it as the way things were. But then the criticisms started to come from fellow pro-lifers, people whom I thought shared my feelings on this. They were sometimes subtle, as when I approached my priest to ask for prayers for someone and he shied away, saying "I know what you want to say".  He had thought I was coming to ask for him to do something for pro-life. Another priest avoided me because he had seen me at the vigil and he disagreed with people who seemed to be "one-issue" people. Relatives said that [...]

Response to the Bishops of Atlantic Canada

2016-12-21T15:22:25.652-04:00

On November 27th of this year, the Atlantic Episcopal Assembly comprised of the ten bishops of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland published a letter entitled 'A Pastoral Reflection on Medical Assistance in Dying'. It can be read in its entirety at this link.http://www.catholicregister.org/digital/2016/121116/Atlantic-euthanasia/Atlantic-assisted-dyingThere have been a number of reactions to this letter. Rod Dreher of American Conservative called his post Tenderness Leads to the Gas Chamber.http://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/tenderness-leads-to-the-gas-chamber/Father Raymond de Souza wrote a response that advised the clergy to follow the guidelines of the bishops of Alberta and the North West Territories instead of the bishops of eastern Canada.http://www.catholicregister.org/opinion/columnists/itemlist/category/51-fr-raymond-de-souza RR Reno editor of First Things wrote a scathing article and called it Chaplains of Death.https://www.firstthings.com/web-exclusives/2016/12/chaplains-of-deathThere have been others as well, none of which are endorsing the Atlantic bishops' pastoral letter.I have been mulling this over for a while. My first reaction, as always, is a knee-jerk reaction to strike out and do something big and brash. I have over the years learned to temper myself somewhat; at least now I wait a few days before putting anything in print. But I still think there are some things to be said.I have written several times to my bishop, Archbishop Mancini of the Halifax diocese, and have never received a response. Perhaps he has too many letters and emails to respond to; perhaps he chooses not to. Whatever the reason, I think he needs to say something this time because the waters have been muddied and the direction for the clergy of the Atlantic provinces is unclear, that is simply not right or fair to them.As everyone else has said, the bishops have seemed to leave the door open to giving the last rites to someone who has decided to be euthanised or who is opting for assisted suicide. They certainly have not been definitive in either a yes or no, and that is the main problem with this letter. It copies the vague language of Pope Francis in Amoris Laetitia (or whoever wrote that infamous footnote on Communion for the divorced and remarried). The letter uses the word 'accompany' several times. The clergy and the laity too, I guess, are to 'accompany' the sick person as they journey toward their earthly end, but the bishops do not say what this accompaniment should be. Do we visit the sick and bring them comfort, do we spend time with them as they face the fear and depression that seems to be such a large part of dying, or are we to allow them to receive the Sacraments of confession and communion, even though they have not repented of their sin of choosing to end their life? But then the word 'sin' never appears in the letter. It would seem that it doesn't exist any longer. As one of the comments on LSN put it in the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer:“Luther had said that grace alone can save; his followers took up his doctrine and repeated it word for word. But they left out its invariable corollary, the obligation to discipleship...The justification of the sinner in the world degenerated into the justification of sin and the world. Costly grace was turned into cheap grace without discipleship.”The pastoral letter does indeed seem to equate accompanying someone who is dying with accepting whatever decision they choose at the end of their life, either to end that life themselves or to leave it in the hands of God. The letter does not state that one is wrong and the other is right. In this, the bishops have simply decided to comply with the relativist ethics of [...]

Krauthammer on Abortion and Catholic Church

2016-11-23T12:22:57.486-04:00

width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/eOxKyxUyRuk/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eOxKyxUyRuk?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

This man is a brilliant mind. Raised as an orthodox Jew, Krauthammer is to all purposes an atheist, although he has expressed the fact that he would like to believe. As a trained psychiatrist, he has an understanding of the human psyche that is admirable, and he has the compassion of a man who has lived with his own disability for most of his life (paralysed from the waist down at the age of 21).

Reflections on Trump

2016-11-21T13:03:26.506-04:00

The liberal mindset is such that accepts only those elections and choices in which the correct party wins.                Ryszard Legutko, Polish Catholic philosopher (European Parliament/Flickr)http://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/ryszard-legutko-trump-momenet/Very interesting article about liberal versus conservative politics and whether Donald Trump will succeed in opposing the 'progressive' liberal agenda. [...]

Whew, it's over!

2016-11-15T13:43:32.418-04:00

The American Presidential election, that is. Now for all the protests, hind-sight philosophizing, and general melt-down on the left.I was driving back from Ontario to Nova Scotia on election day, and so I could focus entirely on the news. Listening to Patriot Radio, Fox News, then watching the coverage that night on CNN, and then rising to the day-after discussions and explanations of it all.Alex Marlow of Patriot Radio is one smart cookie. He is editor-in-chief, I believe, and at the young age of 30, he is already showing just how smart and well-informed he is. He listens to podcasts at double speed in order to absorb more information!During this election cycle, he has had Pat Caddell on his program every day for political commentary. Pat is a long-time Democrat, he is 67 years old, a public opinion pollster, he served in the Carter administration and several other presidential campaigns. Months ago, I watched him on Fox News Sunday Fox Report with Harris Faulkner. Harris is a classy black reporter, and she hosted a show with a different flavour, in that her panel of political insiders was composed of one republican, John LeBoutilier, and two Democrats - Pat Caddell and Doug Schoen. So the show is different from other Fox shows.Sometime last year, Pat Caddell predicted a Trump win in this election.http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/11/07/patrick-caddell-real-election-surprise-uprising-american-people.htmlHis reasons: the American people were going to rise up and push back against the political elite on both sides of the aisle. For Caddell, this election was not between Republicans and Democrats, but between the American people and the political classes. And he said the people would win because they had seen government policies fail them and Trump was an outsider, beholden to no one, who was willing to 'drain the swamp'.Then all-time Liberal movie maker, Michael Moore, also predicted a Trump win, calling Trump the legal grenade that the unemployed white working class can legitimately throw into the Washington scene to bring about change. width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/j76P0RJiww0/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/j76P0RJiww0?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>I was excited as I watched the election results and stayed up until 3:30 am to witness the concession of Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump. And yes, 'it felt good' as Moore says.In my alternate life, when I am not being a political junkie, my main hobby is sewing and I follow some sewing blogs. I did not expect the two worlds to collide. But they did. And it has me disturbed. One blogger, whom I follow is a black American who has indicated her love of Obama and his presidency from day one. And she is entitled to that. After this election, she posted about how she had been discarded, or whatever you call what happens to you on Instagram. (who has time for all these social media things, that suck up hour after hour of our precious time?) She had posted that Trump was not her president. Okay, she is entitled to her opinion and to her vote. But what I found most disturbing was her proclaiming that she is a born-again Christian and that Jesus gave us the freedom to decide things for ourselves. I am presuming here that she is speaking about abortion, because that is where the conversation went after that. And she stated that she would be making a donation to Planned Parenthood because she sincerely believes in their work. Many comments appeared on her blog, the vast majority of them being supportive and many of them giving voice to the fact that people were shocked by a Tru[...]

Support Psychology Professor Jordan Peterson

Psychology professor Jordan Peterson is refusing to use the personal pronouns associated with the gender that a person identifies with, but will only use the personal pronoun that agrees with their biological gender.

For that, he is being vilified and there is talk of a case against the University of Toronto by the Ontario Human Rights Commission because they have not reprimanded or fired Professor Peterson.

So this is what the sexual revolution has come to. An ever-growing number of young adults who pretend to be whatever gender they choose and remember, that is fluid.

As one other psychologist said to Peterson, the claim is that you cannot say people are born heterosexual, but the trans-gender premise is that 'you are born this way'. Someone can claim to be homosexual from birth, so why can't the opposite be said?  The argument is so easy to refute.

But the saddest thing of all is to look at these kids who are giving the finger to the cameraman, who have been taken in by all this talk of gender and sexuality and whose lives are being ruined over it.

Support Peterson in his fight for free speech. Because if you don't have free speech, you will have violence. As he very clearly reasons, speech is the tool by which we deal with conflict. Eliminate that and you will have actual physical conflict.

He is a brave man.

You Can't Judge Trump

https://pjmedia.com/blog/america-you-have-no-right-to-judge-donald-trump/1/How ironic, then, that a culture which rejects moral standards has suddenly become so pure and pristine, sitting in judgment of someone they deem too immoral to become president because of something he said in private. As a logical person, I have to ask these paragons of newly found virtue where this standard by which they've judged Trump is found. Those who are complaining about Trump today have no basis for their moral outrage. That's because their secular amoral worldview rejects any basis for that moral judgment. Any argument they make against the "immorality" of Trump is stolen, or at least borrowed for expediency, from a religious worldview they have soundly rejected. As Mark Levin said in his broadcast on Monday evening, no mention was made of the drowning death of Mary Jo Kopechne that was the fault of Senator Ted Kennedy, no mention was made of the numerous affairs of Jack Kennedy while he was a sitting president, Bill Clinton's affairs were given a pass. But Donald Trump's lewd remarks are being put out there with the statement that he is not fit to be president.http://nation.foxnews.com/2016/10/11/mark-levin-standing-down-election-not-moral-and-principled-thing-doHow is Hillary Clinton fit to be president?  a woman who wholeheartedly supports the grisly procedure of partial-birth abortion, the woman who didn't answer the phone at 3 am when Ambassador Chris Stevens was being killed in Libya, the woman who with Barack Obama helped the fuel the rise of ISIS in the middle-east.If Donald Trump is not fit to be president, then certainly Hillary Clinton is not fit to be president. There it is - the double standard of the left

2016-10-10T09:56:45.195-03:00

P*ssygate? Sorry, I decline to play by Washington Post rules. Every GOP nominee is a sexist pig: last time round, it was poor blameless Mitt with his "binders full of women" and his long track record of giving cancer to laid-off workers' wives. The fact that this particular nominee for once actually is a vainglorious sexist is not even interesting in a media stopped-clock kind of way - because Trump has more or less been advertising the fact on the Howard Stern show for a quarter-century. So the story is chiefly of note as a near parodic example of the ludicrously lop-sided standards applied to Democrats and Republicans: I mean, the alternative to a Trump victory is the restoration to the White House of a credibly accused rapist and serial abuser, accompanied by the woman who has gleefully trashed his victims for 40 years. This race would be very different ifJuanita Broaddrick and "You might want to put some ice on that" had received a thousandth of the media coverage given to Alicia Machado and "Miss Piggy":

Standing up for the rights of Iranian women

2016-10-06T20:42:40.899-03:00

US Chess Grandmaster Nazi Paikidze, upon learning that the chess final was to be held in Iran, has said that she will boycott the match. Even though this may damage her career, Nazi has decided that she cannot take part in a country that denies women many rights.

                                    (image)

“Some consider a hijab part of culture,” a beautifully defiant Paikidze stated in an Instagram post. “But, I know that a lot of Iranian women are bravely protesting this forced law daily and risking a lot by doing so. That’s why I will NOT wear a hijab and support women's oppression.”
This week, she launched a campaign on Change.org demanding that FIDE choose a different location for the chess championship, preferably a place that doesn’t exploit scripture to oppress women.
So far, the petition has amassed about 3,000 signatures. To add your voice to Paikidze’s rallying cry, click here.

Pope Francis is Formed by Argentina

2016-10-05T13:16:30.601-03:00

Many Catholics are troubled by our current Pope. And his latest pronouncements with regards to marriage, divorce and reception of the Sacraments has stirred up yet more controversy.I have long been aware that Pope Francis is quite different from all other popes, in view of his ethnicity. Coming from Argentina rather than from Europe has cast a completely different light upon the papacy. So when I read on Sandro Magister today, http://chiesa.espresso.repubblica.it/articolo/1351383?eng=y that the Pope is indicating that it is the confessor or priest in whom one confides who is to discern whether or not a person in a second marriage can receive Communion, I was reminded of the Canadian bishops' statement regarding Pope Paul VI's encyclical Humanae Vitae in which he condemned artificial contraception when they said that Catholics must make this decision according to their own conscience and with the advice of their parish priest.Since the Pope first indicated his real thoughts on this matter at the Synod on the Family and most recently in a letter of endorsement to the Argentinian bishops' statement on reception of the Eucharist, I thought how much is he influenced by Argentina.A quick google search reveals that Argentina has one of the highest divorce rates in the world, seven out of ten marriages end in divorce within ten years. This translates to one divorce every 90 minutes.Argentina is said to have the highest infidelity rate in all of South America.Divorce has been legal in the country since 1987, and now the country has the highest divorce rate as well.ahttp://facts.randomhistory.com/argentina-facts.htmlIt would seem that Pope Francis is trying to conform the Church to the world, rather than the other way around. Hardly biblical.2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:12Pray for this Pope, he is selling out the Catholic Church because of the love he has for his own country. Side Note: the divorce rate in Poland in 2008 was 25%, compare that with the 70% rate in Argentina. Which country would you prefer to live in?Conspiracy Theory Note: does Pope Francis have a personal vendetta against Pope John Paul II when it comes to marriage and the family?A psychiatrist explores that idea here:https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/exploring-the-excessive-anger-at-st.-john-paul-ii[...]

American Electoral Race and Canadian News too!

2016-09-28T09:30:31.842-03:00

A very good piece from Father Dwight Longenecker on the American presidential race. He has really nailed it: Hillary Clinton is the ultimate 'helicopter mom', keeping everything in line even if it means regulating the minutiae of our daily lives and Donald Trump, the schoolyard bully who is tapping into the rebelliousness we all feel when there is an overbearing mother crowding out our individuality. Take a minute and read it, well worth the time.

He’s tapping into something much more basic. He’s tapping into America’s deep dislike and distrust of the feminization of American culture.

Now here in Canada, where politics is notoriously dull, there is an element of surprise and excitement afoot. Andrew Scheer has thrown his hat into the contest for the leader of the Conservative Party. This is great news. Scheer is a witty, brilliant and very conservative 'young' member of Parliament. He is the youngest member to ever be selected speaker of the house, and he is respected on both sides of the aisle. And best of all, he is conservative on the social issues of abortion, same sex marriage, education.

Alissa Golob and her new group are advising that we all take out memberships in the Conservative Party (only $15 per year) for the sole purpose of being able to have a voice in who becomes the next leader of that party. Click here to sign up.

https://donate.conservative.ca/membership

This doesn't even mean that you have to vote Conservative, but it will give you a say in who does get to lead that party and that is important. Check out the videos below to get an idea of the wit of this fellow. He has the ability to lead and what a great figure to come forth when our country is in the throes of the Trudeau cult mania.
