Hey Jill . . . Both cameras are great in my opinion. I thought that I read on your blog that you have a Canon 30d, which is also a good camera. But really, I think that the lens is more important than the body and that the photographer's vision is the most important part of a picture. I haven't shot in film in a long time, but my Mom gave me her Nikon film camera from the 1980s. So, I may start again . . .

I completely agree with you. Its not the camera or the lens, its the person behind the camera.

Oh that's so funny, I just saw this: I just met Craig, too! In London! He really is a nice guy, so generous spirited. When I first started my blog, he was very helpful in emails, just giving good advice, passing on his wisdom.. I'm so glad you met him & I'm not surprised you'd feel the same way.

My digital camera is so pathetically basic. I don't even know it's name, apart from it's a Canon. Actually it was Craig who said when I was only shooting in film, that I should stick with it and make a niche for myself as a film only blogger. But it's just such a bitch getting the film developed & scanned, I'm reliant on the schedule of an employee in a supermarket. And they don't keep my kind of 24/7 hours!

So what are you saying: is your camera more, or less, posh than Craig's? ; )

thanks for the answer :)

First off Cristi, you take WICKED photos. Second, a camera and a lens alone doesn't make the shot. The photographer does. Third, I've never seen anything on your blog that wasn't utterly creative and inspiring. You are also beyond adept at PS, to, which I have no idea how to use at all!

K, now I have to tell you this story too. It's funny. Perfict oppertunity.

When I walk down the street EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE has these gnarly lenses. and I always think they eyeball my lense...and then at me, and have this goofy smile like i am naked or something. They KNOW I am such a beginer. Then they walk past me with their smerk and their camera bags all sun bleached. I am left standing on the big sidewalk my little lens and me.

It is so funny this little world in my own head that I have entered. Your story reminded me of that, the eyeballing.
