Stumbled on your last post...why give up blogging? You can blog about your running, and other new life experience up in the Big D as well. Unless, of course, posting a lot in FB and on Twitter takes over for that! Sorry to see you go from here!

Nothing surprises me any more, but honestly, after writing this, I went to hockey and it felt really really normal. I was like, "Now, why was I thinking about quitting?" LOL Maybe I just needed to admit and accept that I was willing to let it go if it continued to not fulfill me. I dunno.

I did find out that there's a 2 week break and then the fall season runs through December, so I may give that a shot and then decide from there.

I agree it makes me sad, too, just as much as it seems like it would be a relief to not play any more. That's why I've been so conflicted.

It makes me sad that you're thinking of giving up, because I really enjoyed reading your posts about playing - but I enjoyed them because you were passionate about it, and if you're not any more then that's a perfectly good reason to stop. I hope you make the choices that bring the most happiness overall, even if I'll miss your writing about it!

He's a great hockey player with a lot of talent just bad luck with injuries. Curious to see what happens now that he's healthy.

I follow you over on Twitter (@lilbobo6869) I almost NEVER Tweet, just use it to get my sports fix. I was really happy to hear you got the beat writer gig. Go get 'em!

Truly, this is an absolutely horrific act. As your friend, I am so sorry for your loss of another friend. As a hockey gal, I am so sad to see such a vital part of the hockey community gone too soon. *hugs*

Haha, thanks for being a good sport. ;)

Glad to hear you thought it was my defenses fault and not mine on the goals ;) The second one really was mine though since the shooter scored, and I was out of position leaning towards the pass that never happened. Enjoy gawking at the pads!

Oh man, I'm feeling it this morning though. Though the dog kicking me all night in bed is partially to blame for that.

Yay!

Happy rec league hockey posting!

These are probably my favorites, and I'll have to try the pre-game technique covered. *grin*

Okay, I just won't switch ends anymore when he starts off on my team. :) Because of course, I love him defensively.

I remembered that mine was caused by a bracelet that gets pushed higher on my wrist when I sleep. I switched it to the other wrist for a while and the numbness went away. It was SUCH a weird feeling to put on gloves in the winter and not be able to feel two fingers....

Yeah, we all went right to the ulnar nerve, but the fact that it's in both hands pretty much evenly is what's throwing us off. Doc and I decided to just keep an eye on it and if it doesn't get better (or starts to get worse), we'll do xrays of my neck and see if something jumps out. She wasn't overly concerned since there's no weakness. It's mostly just really annoying.

Plus, it gives me an excuse to get a great massage, so that's on tomorrow's agenda. Maybe loosening up my shoulders and neck muscles will help.

2012-06-08T12:49:00.742-05:00

I had numbness in my pinky and ring fingers on one hand. Learned that there is a nerve that feeds those two fingers that runs through the little groove on the side of your elbow. Apparently the nerve is really close to the skin and can get pinched or moved out of it's protective little groove. Mine resolved itself even though it took a couple months.
Good luck!

Having lost 2 very dear friends in the last 23 months from C I can relate to your rawness. There is nothing so demeaning in this life than to realize there's nothing you can do to heal a loved one. Being there with her will give her the strength she needs in her final hours and to be able to let go. Be with her. Don't stay away. You don't have to say anything. You can cry together. Or you can laugh your asses off. But be with her. Then take her spirit with you as you move forward in your life and she'll never leave your heart. God Bless and Be Strong.

I guess in a way that's actually the same sort of experience as the players have - who knows where they'll be next season? So many things can happen.

Besides, no more hockey is always sad times anyway.

HUGS. Yes, life does go on. Dig out photos of and with her and remember all the good times.
Pray for her AND her family, love her, think about her and ..cry, it does help!

Wow, Christa, I had no idea. I'm so sorry. And I appreciate the hugs. I'm feeling much better after some sleep and sunshine, you know? Not that anything is looking up on Leisa's end, other than I think we all feel like we've shown her as much love as we can. She's at the point where she's heavily sedated and very weak, from what I hear. I suppose we're fortunate to get time to sort of gain acceptance and let her go with peace in our hearts.
