THE WINNER IS:Sarafan2CONGRATULATIONS!!We all like our blogs to look inviting and pretty don't we? It's so hard to find the perfect banner, logo, background though. I was approached by Custom Scrapbook Blog Design about hosting a give away for her. Of course the answer was yes :) Who wouldn't want a new look for their blog? Here is a bit about Custom Scrapbook Blog Design:The name Custom Scrapbook Blog Designs speaks for itself: I design blogs for people in a scrapbook theme! As I was looking for a blog designer to design my personal blog, I had a hard time finding one that captioned my image for quite a while for a REASONABLE price. PR Welcome

Thu, 10 Mar 2011 07:43:00 +0000

Would you like your products or
services reviewed by
the Audrey's Give Away team?
Then you have come to the right place!
OR
If you would like me to just host
a give away for you
Please email me at

audreyscountrycrafts [at] gmail [dot] com

to get started.

I have over 1000 followers on my Give Away blog and over 1000 followers on my Country Crafts blog. All give aways that I host are advertised on both blogs for the duration of the give away. Each Give Away will run for a 3 week period.

I also have a list of over 100 free sites/blogs that I advertise Give Aways on. Along with myself, I have a very reliable and honest group that help with the reviews. All reviews will be positive. (We will inform you if we are unable to provide you with a positive review and we won't publish the review.)

Give Aways must be open to Canadians. I would prefer to have the Give Away open World Wide, but will host a Give Away open to only US & Canada.

If you would like us to review your product, I do suggest that you send me a non-returnable sample of your product. The best way to gain exposure to your product is to also have a Give Away of the product I am reviewing. The winner of the Give Away would be picked by me using Random.org, at which time I will email you the winner and it will be your responsibility to mail them the prize within two weeks. Or if you prefer, another wonderful way to have a give away is to offer a Gift Certificate to your shop (the winner has their choice of product).

My "Team" consists of myself (an almost 50 year old wife, mother, school bus driver, crafter and lover of Give Aways), my almost 50 year old Husband, two teenage sons, and 3 close friends with young children. We all offer honest and straight forward opinions.

Please allow 2 weeks for me to thoroughly review your product.
You will be notified by email when I have received the sample product. Once my review of your product has been posted and the Give Away has begun I will send another email containing the link.

Here is my email - please contact me if you are interested:

How To Have a Successful Give Away!

Thu, 10 Mar 2011 06:38:00 +0000

Are you planning on having a Give Away? Do you host Give Aways? Would you like to get traffic to your Give Away? Here are some ideas that might be helpful.*When planning a Give Away or Hosting a Give Away (G.A.):1) Have a good write up on the shop the give away is coming from.- If the G.A. is from your own shop - have a short write-up about yourself & your shop. Most people are interested in where the prize is coming from.2) Make sure there are quite a few links to the shop.3) Pictures are important. Have a few different pictures from the shop.- Show a good variety of items : 3-4 pictures works well. This will make people interested in the rest of the shop too.4) Have a Very Good picture of the prize and a good description.* Every G.A. has different rules for entering. Here are a few suggestions for rules:1) Have a mandatory entry. I like to have this entry be an easy one. What I do is have everyone go to the shop/site, pick their favorite item, then come back to my blog with the name/link. This way the shop gets traffic, hopefully interest & maybe a sale or two.2) Have people twitter, Facebook, blog etc about your G.A. with links back to it. It's amazing how many people will do one or more of these to enter. The more links out there the more traffic you might get. You could also ask people to follow you on twitter. 3) Some blogs like to have people follow their blog as an entry option. I wouldn't suggest making this the mandatory entry, though some blogs do with some luck. Quite a few people will avoid these G.A.'s.4) Have everyone leave a way for you to contact them.ie: email, blog, etsy shop id.5) Basically anything goes. The ways to enter a G.A. is endless. Do what works for you!* Make sure you post the end date!!I post G.A's on my blog and on two other blogs. Nothing is more frustrating than not knowing when the G.A. ends.* Email the winner! There are blogs that expect people to come back to see if they won. But realistically this isn't the best. Who remembers every G.A. they entered, where to find it, what the end date was etc. Next to no one. If you posted in the rules that everyone should leave a way for you to contact them - hopefully they did :) If not - pick another winner. (I use Random.org to pick my winners) Email the winner, give them 3 days to email back (make sure to mention that in the email). If they don't get back to you, pick another winner. I've never had to pick a 2nd winner. Everyone loves to win!!* PROMOTIONProbably the most important step in having/hosting a successful G.A. The more sites/blogs you advertise on the more traffic to your blog & therefore to the G.A. shop! I've accumulated a very long list of sites/blogs where you can advertise for FREE! A few of them you will have to join, but that is also free & well worth it. Here is the link to my list:http:/www.audreysgiveaways.blogspot.com/2009/08/where-to-advertise-give-away.htmlWhen posting your G.A. on Linky's - make sure to add the end date! Link directly to the G.A. post. And if you happen to have a prize that is worth $20+, mention that as well.Example:AGB - Hand Painted Jean Blanket $65 - 01/08http://audreysgiveaways.blogspot.com/2009/12/jean-blanket.htmlI won't tell you that if you follow everything I've listed that you will have the best G.A. ever. How many entries you get has a lot to do with what the prize is, where you promote, and how people are feeling when they see your post. Not saying that the prize has to be worth $20+, many items that are $5 get lots of entries. People are fickle, you just never know what types of G.A. they will want to enter. But the more you promote the better chance you have of getting people to your blog & entering the G.A.* Moral of the Story :)- Have Fun!!- Make rules fairly easy.- Don't forget the end date!- Email Winner!!If you have any tricks, links, ideas or suggestions please post them here. We would all love[...]

1 Doz. Handmade Lollipops Giveaway

Wed, 02 Mar 2011 16:39:00 +0000

CLOSED*Where are you from? I am from Waldoboro Maine, but I was brought up on the ocean in Belfast, Maine. Although most people say that my accent reminds them more of New York City or New Jersey. *How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business? My shop name was easy for my to choose. Maddie is my daughter and she can be a little devil. Maddie is also my little taste tester. I know they are good if she eats the whole cake ball. So thats how Maddie's Devilish Sweets got its name. I started my business because I wanted to do something I loved while bringing in a little but of money. I was trained as a pastry chef and love baking, so for me what I wanted to do was a no brainer.*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?1. Wow those look yummy2. That they are beautiful and well represented3. That I take pride in making the goodies in my shop4. Different events they could use them at5. Heaven in a bite sized concoction *What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up? I have a lot of addictions when it comes to supplies. My two biggest ones are Flavorings... I love to see what I can do by mixing different flavors, so I feel the need to have ever flavor possible lol. My second addiction is a little odd... I love different designed tissue paper. I pack things with tissue paper and love it when someone opens a package and thinks " wow this is gorgeous" even before they get to the product.*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy? I love spending time with my family. We are closely knit, and in the summer we have tons of BBQ's and picnics. I also write book and product reviews for a local newspaper and my blog. So I am always seen with a new product, figuring out how it works... what different things I can do with it, how it works ect. Also I always have my Kindle on hand or a book... just in case I find a few moments that I can sit down and read.*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?I love making lollipops. I really like how I can come up with just about any flavor lollipop and have it come out amazing! I look forward to adding new flavors to the shop soon. I also really love making the Bacon and chocolate cake balls. They are unusual but people really seem to love them! and they always come out looking amazing.*What keeps you motivated? It actually doesn't take a whole lot to keep me motivated. I just really love baking and creating new goodies. I think that it helps that I am able to have my daughter at arms reach. She has a little set that has bowls and whisks with it... so when I am baking ... Maddie is baking. *If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?Be creative! I got this advice from someone else on Etsy. If you have a unique and quality product, you will be successful. Don't get into to something that a million other people are doing because you won't stand out and either will your products. Also a picture is worth a thousand words. I take about 30 pictures of each item from tons of different angles and then pick the one that looks the most professional. It gives your shop an amazing look and feel about it.*Are there other places on the net we can find you?Twitter: @SparklingReviewMy Blog: www.sparklingreviews.comEtsy: Goincrazyinme.etsy.comNOW FOR THE GIVE AWAY!The winner will receive 1 dozen Handmade Lollipops in a new surprise flavor from Maddie's Devilish Sweets!  If you have allergies, or are a vegan/vegetarian, Maddie's Devilish Sweets will work with you and make the perfect Lollipops just for you :)Here are the Rules to enter the Give Away. Please leave an email so I can contact you if you win!* For the first entry - Go to: Maddie's Devilish SweetsPick an item you would LOVE to try and come back here with the name and/or link. For 1[...]

Whirl Mini Laser Mouse Giveaway

Tue, 01 Mar 2011 16:04:00 +0000

THE WINNER IS:#81 VRTISH55!CONGRATULATIONS!!!If you spend a lot of time in front of a computer - you need a mouse from Smartfish. They sent me a Whirl Mini Laser Mouse to try out. Luckily both boys were home and got to try it too :) It comes with batteries!! Woohoo! Didn't have to run to town to get batteries to try it out :)This mouse is really comfortable. It's just the right size for my hand. The whole mouse swivels side to side & front to back for comfort. You don't always have to have your hand in the same numbing position, you can tilt the mouse to the right or left and just relax while using it. Another wonderful feature is that the mouse is wireless! Our old mouse cord always seems to be in the way! Luke (son1) has a wireless mouse for his laptop, and it looked so much easier to use. The only draw back for us was that to use the wireless mouse we had to plug it into the USB port on the front of our desktop computer in order to use it. I always have my camera plugged in there, so it was a bit inconvenient. If I plugged the mouse into the back - the signal couldn't get through our monitor, so the mouse didn't work quite as well. 1/2 Pound Candy Giveaway

Tue, 01 Mar 2011 10:44:00 +0000

THE WINNER IS:#169 - MMBEAR!!!CONGRATULATIONS!*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.I am originally from Alabama but after spending 6 years after college in south Mississippi, I have been living in Savannah, GA for the last 4 years. I have been married to an awesome guy for 9 years and have two beautiful children: Patrick, age 5 and Abigail, 20 months. I work full time as an engineer and aspire to be the impossible Supermom.*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business?Honestly it wasn't my first choice. My first choice was Abby Jane after our daughter. I loved the girlyness of it. But I couldn't bear to leave my son's name totally out of the picture. Since nothing that included his name really rang clearly with me, I just pulled How Sweet It Is out of the air. It's growing on me. I have been making homemade candy based on my mom's recipes for years. Last year due to budget constraints it because our standard Christmas present to many, many people who were on our Christmas list. The response was great. One of my friends suggested I sell it and bought the first sales ever this past Christmas. The more I thought of it, the more I like the idea. So I thought I should expand out from just my local friends and take it to etsy.*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?1.) Yum 2.) Lovely 3.) What a great idea!  4.) I need to buy some for ____ 5.) Yum (again!)*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up?I have to serious restrain myself from buying too many supplies to just make lots of candy here in the beginning of the business. I'm trying to build it as sales increase but it is hard. It's also hard to resist having candy around the house at all times to munch on.*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy? I'm pretty much a big nerd. I love reading, music (I once was a musician, but life moved on). I like things that make me think and truly inspire me to better myself or the world around me. I love snuggling with my children and soaking in a bubble bath. If money were no object I would throw a LOT of money at all of the lovely shops on etsy!*Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?I love making all of the classic items that remind me of Christmases past...the ones that my mom has always made. Those are the classic fudges, the buckeyes, and the dipped items like oreos. I have had a lot of fun coming up with new creations like the dipped S'mores.*If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?Well, I am still a new shop, so that's hard. But I would say first of all, use all outlets you have...personal friends, Facebook, Twitter, email, word of mouth. Everything. Don't be afraid to sell your product. It might feel uncomfortable--promoting yourself like that--but it's the way you will probably have to push to be noticed.*Are there other places on the net we can find you? Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/How-Sweet-It-Is-Candy-and-Confections/143872905674751Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/HowSweetCandyYou can also find my personal finance blog at http://mrsnespysworld.blogspot.com but that has very little to do with my candy. =)NOW FOR THE GIVE AWAY!The winner will receive 1/2 a pound of candy from How Sweet It Is! Wed, 05 Jan 2011 13:56:00 +0000

THE WINNER IS:SweetShenanigansCONGRATULATIONS!!When I first opened The Christmas Corner I thought it would be a place to showcase the Christmas Ornaments I paint every year. Didn't think that I would branch out to do every season/holiday :) I guess I should have thought about that when I named my shop! But after meeting so many amazing people on Etsy in the last couple of months, I decided to stay open all year. So now The Christmas Corner is getting ready for Valentine's Day.Since I'm a coffee drinker - quite addicted actually, I started making coasters. There are quite a few around my house - but I can never find them! Where do they go? I had to go quite a bit of experimenting to get them just right, but now I'm very happy with them. Had a new friend on Etsy ask about matching coffee mugs - so I'm now experimenting with them too :) This is really quite a bit of fun!My shop also now carries bottlecap magnets and scrabble tile magnets. You should see my fridge :) I LOVE magnets! When we purchased the new fridge 2 years ago, hubby was really hoping to get one that magnets wouldn't stick too, but it's amazing how many of the magnets HE uses for notes! lolSo to celebrate the fact the my shop is now open year round - I thought I would do a give away! a HONEY of a Giveaway!

Mon, 03 Jan 2011 11:20:00 +0000

THE WINNER IS:JS22!!CONGRATULATIONS!Ok - the title is a bad play on words, I admit :) But yes, this is a review for some really amazing Honey! Tropical Traditions isn't just about coconut oil.I love honey! Use it in my tea, twice a week for breakfast on a multi-grain bagel, and sometimes even for cooking. Usually I would purchase the honey at the local grocery store in liquid form, but since trying Organic Raw Honey from Tropical Traditions, the honey at the grocery store will not be my first choice. Please click on the link to read about the honey and where it comes from. When I opened the jar I was sent, I was surprised at how firm the honey was. Did need to soften it a bit to get it to spread on my bagel, but the taste is worth it :) And since it is in "solid" form, the honey doesn't run all over my hand while I'm eating. It's really amazing honey! What's even better is it's Canadian, and Organic! (I'm Canadian, but not totally organic - lol) I would definitely recommend this wonderful honey to everyone! It comes in two sizes:1) 17.6oz jar and sells for $10.99 (on sale right now)2) 15lb pail that sells for $129.99 (on sale also)You can also purchase a 60lb pail of the honey, but what would you do with that much honey?NOW FOR THE GIVE AWAY!The winner will receive a 17.6oz Jar of Organic Honey from Tropical Traditions!this give away is closed!!The draw will take place on: January 28 @ 8PM Central This is open to US & Canada Only!Good Luck Everyone!!Audrey's Country Crafts is in no way responsible for the mailing of the prize. Sat, 01 Jan 2011 14:36:00 +0000

THE WINNER IS:OUTSIDEREIN!!CONGRATULATIONS!I love peanut butter and I love coconut, but have never heard of Coconut Peanut Butter! So when I saw it on Tropical Traditions and was given the chance to try it - I couldn't turn it down.I was quite surprised at how firm the Coconut Peanut Butter is. Two ingredients: nothing else! No fillers, no binders, no sweeteners, and no preservatives. The peanuts are 100% organic Valencia peanuts grown organically by family farmers in New Mexico and Texas. The dried coconut is certified organic coconut meat from the Philippines from coconuts that are grown with no fertilizers or pesticides. This premium dried coconut contains no additives or preservatives, and is not sweetened. 3 Page Website Giveaway

Sat, 01 Jan 2011 12:51:00 +0000

THE WINNER IS:DONNA!!CONGRATULATIONS!Would you love to have your own website - but just don't know how to make one? I found the perfect shop for you!!But before we get to the give away - let's learn a little bit more about the shop.*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.I'm from Missouri in the USA. I'm addicted to the computer so I LOVE making websites and graphics like banners and logos. I like animals but limit myself to 1 dog and 1 cat. When I'm not designing on the computer I have a full time job. I enjoy drawing (and wish I could make that my craft) and reading. Games are great too, I like to play card and board games with my family (have you heard of sequence?) and video games with my brother. I can't wait to try the xbox kinect.*How did you decide on your shop name? Why did you start your business? My dad's nickname for me when I was little was "doodlebug", so when trying to figure out a name I decided to use that and "digital" since I was selling online. It works on two levels now because "doodle" relates to making graphics.*What’s your supply addiction; is there a specific color or type of supply you just can’t pass up? Since most things are made with photoshop I don't have a supply addiction, but I do have an addiction to buying fabric that I never end up using. Anytime I see a beautiful fabric I want to buy it (even though I don't sew), so I ask my mom what could be made out of it :)*What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy? I got into web design years ago helping my mom list on ebay. We would see auctions that had pictures in the description and said "how do they do that". Found out it was html so I started learning it. My mom always has crafts going so I learned more html to build websites for her craft (since they were too expensive to have made). Then I wanted to offer affordable website design for the small business and craft person like my mom. *Which item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?My favorite item I have made was the wedding cake clip art. It was the first thing I made with adobe illustrator and I was surprised and happy that I could make something like that.*If you could give a piece of advice to a new shop - what would it be?My advice to new shops is to not under price your work. I'm upping my prices as my portfolio grows, but guess what? Having lower prices doesn't help you sell more things. So give your products value and don't forget to pay yourself after the material cost.*Are there other places on the net we can find you?I have a website -  http://digitaldoodlebug.com/Blog -  digitaldoodlebug.com/blog/and just started a facebook page -  www.facebook.com/pages/Digitaldoodlebug/180629705293110#!/pages/Digitaldoodle...I will be posting coupons on my blog, and my facebook page if that gains popularity.NOW FOR THE GIVE AWAY!The winner will receive a 3 page Website with One Year hosting from Digital Doodlebug! Some Examples of sites she has done:Concert in the ParkSummerfield SoapsLillja DesignsWoodland Welsh TerriersHere are the Rules to enter the Give Away. Please leave an email so I can contact you if you win!THIS GIVE AWAY IS CLOSED!!The draw will take place on: February 4 @ 8PM CentralThis is open to Worldwide!Good Luck Everyone!!Audrey's Country Crafts is in no way responsible for the mailing of the prize.
