I have only read one other book by Delinsky and that was years ago - so I didn't have any expectations in regard to surprises. I think I'm glad I knew what the big surprise was before the reveal as I think I would have found it strange if it all hadn't been lurking in Charlotte's mind.

I did like it and found it believable- but it seemed more forced plot-wise than most of her books to me. I knew the "Salt" so-called 'surprise' right off the bat, for instance. None of her usual "I didn't see that coming" Not sure I have read that one, Sue, will have to check it out. I loved all the good references without there being recipes like most books with similar plots - I was drooling over a few things!

I read Sweet Salt Air last year and enjoyed it. I am from Massachusetts and have vacationed in Maine, so the food references hooked me! Farm to table is huge is my community and I thought she did a great job mixing the recipes with the plot. My favorite BD book is Lake News.

I got one of the Sweet Salt Air books from Chatterbox as well. I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed it. It was a bit predictable but I found it believable as well.

Congratulations on finishing your first 5k. You will run the Princess Half marathon and have a marvelous time doing it! Baby steps will help you get there, so next up, a 10k. Pick a race a few months away and start training!

We've been using Time4Learning for over 4 years now, and we absolutely love it. My daughter really likes the animated and interactive lessons. She never fusses about doing her lessons. She actually starts her lessons on her own without me prompting her to do so. In reference to your comment about the math being common core aligned, though, I have not seen that at all. Like I said, we've been using this for years, and we have not noticed any changes to the curriculum at all. Actually, one of the things I like about their math is that if she gets an answer wrong, the program is prompted to explain the concept again in a different way to help her understand it. Language Arts is our daughter's favorite subject. Oh, and I love the progress reports! That's a good idea you have about having an online area where they can check off their work. We print up the scheduler and check it off on paper. Do you know that you can also sign up your daughter for Art? I think it's offered after the first month of membership for students 4th through 8th grade. It's great that your kids enjoyed the program. Maybe I would suggest you give them a call about the math. I've found them to be very helpful when I've had questions regarding their curriculum or for technical support. If you call them, let them know about your idea for having a daily or weekly activity scheduler where the kids can mark off their work as done. :) Great review!

Hello, superwoman. lol....just reading your 'about Braultfam'. I know so many superwomen. In my book, almost all moms are superwoman, but especially those of us who homeschool AND work in addition to our household/family responsibilities. I, too, worked part-time for a surgeon. An orthopedic surgeon. That's when I found and started using time4learning. I look forward to reading your review!!
