Tara: you prepare a recipe of your favorite cream cheese icing. A good one would be:

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Hi, I just found your blog through Flickr. This gingerbread cake looks AMAZING. I love the influx of warm, spicy baked goods that make their way into our bellies as the weather grows cooler, and this cake definitely looks like a winner! You take such beautiful photographs by the way. Very glossy magazine worthy! ;)

Yay for being Canadian!

Hélène, this cake looks divine. Our holiday menu has always included post-meal (and post-dessert - second dessert?) triple-ginger cookies. Perhaps this year the gingerbread cake can subsitute.

For the main meal, our menu of choice is atypical: we do potatoes and glazed carrots and yams, but also crêpes filled with broccoli in a mustard-maple-cheese sauce (rather than turkey). Yum!
