Touching baby rabbits is fine, the mom won't abandon them. After all, your scent is associated with water refills, hay, and food. Wild cottontails will abandon their nests if touched by humans, but not domestic rabbits. First time rabbit moms sometimes don't know what to do and can lose a litter that way, but by the second litter they have it figured out. Good job, Coralie!

You've probably found this in your googling, but be really careful about touching the baby rabbits. If the mother smells you on them, she doesn't respond kindly. Almost a whole litter of my in-laws' bunnies died. Baby powder on your hands and the mother's nose is supposed to help. The things you learn in Missouri ;)
