Thanks for all the comments peeps. For some reason I have only just seen them. Glad you all like the new Flash display. I'm really excited at being able to showcase a whole different range of books.2010-02-06T14:44:29.520+00:00
Raymond Queneau 'SOLD OUT'? Ohh, you've made the day of this sad old bat, Sarah, as I thought I was the only Anglophone who still read him (and God knows I'm isolated enough as it is!) - thank you.2009-12-27T14:31:36.179+00:00
Wish Manchester Waterstones was so good at short story, and gosh flash fiction displays, fantastic. I have added quite a few books to my wishlist...thanks sara2009-12-09T01:50:08.613+00:00
I wish you worked at the Waterstones near me!2009-12-08T11:49:34.242+00:00
Looks fab! I'm sure some customers looking for new ideas will really appreciate it. Amy Hempel is fab! I don't have that particular book, so will look out for it.2009-12-07T15:31:22.081+00:00
Oh fantastic. I thought maybe they'd sold out of White Road for the other shelf - ha!! I knew it would be somewhere.2009-12-07T15:21:07.131+00:00
Oh now that is very very exciting! And to see me in the midst of those fabulous writers - Lydia Davis, Amy Hempel, Barthelme - and some I have never heard of but will immediately seek out! Sara, you ARE the best. Truly. And this bears out my theory that 2010 is going to be the Year of Flash Fiction. Let's make it happen, eh?2009-12-07T08:42:34.976+00:00
This is why I have not gone into the city for ages - as soon as I see displays like this - though, ahem, none I have ever seen have, ahem, ever emulated your distinct style, blah, blah toady blah - I always want to buy more books!
