Hi, I don't know if you can help me but I was wanting information on the December 1956 hill climb at Phillip island. I found a trophy from then with my dad's name on it and was wanting to know more.

Hello, Keith, A while back the hosting location where my site had resided comfortably for so many years pulled the rug out from under me and discontinued that service. I moved to another, and have been updating antiquated referrals as I come across them. "The Pits" link on your On The Beach page, about a third of the way down, could be corrected to connect to the URL in my "Website" set out above (http://0398ca9.netsolhost.com/pits5.htm). Home page of my entire site can still be reached at http://fsheff.com. Cheers! Frank Sheffield San Diego, California USA

Some More Trivia ----------------- In one scene Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner are walking down the street, and a group of kids on bikes cycle past (haven't seen the movie recently so don't know exactly where it is). The story is that the kids had heard Peck and Gardner were doing a scene locally and they decided to go down to watch. Apparently the director, on the spur of the moment, decided that having the kids ride past Peck and Gardner would add a nice touch for the scene. Each of the kids got paid 10 pounds for appearing in the movie (quite a lot of money in those days). I know this detail as my aunt was one of those kids - she's the one with straight, shoulder-length blond hair. Regards Kevin

Steve - Other than resorting to Google - and the Defence archives - I am afraid that I can't offer you any advice on either of these! - Keith

Hello Keith, I am trying to find information about Garnet Aitchison. Apart from finding he enlisted in the Australian Light Horse in 1914 and returning in 1918, I can find nothing. Are you able to assist me in this quest? Steve Connolly. P.S. Anything on Old Mick Moore from Wandecla would be a bonus

Dick - See the details on this page for obtaining the book from Philip Davey; although I am not sure that copies are still available.
