"When you talk about the benefits of slavery, for crying out loud, what was your mind set? A 24-year-old Appleton man recently received his 31st ticket in the past five years for driving with a suspended license. Appleton Police Sergeant Dave Lund says people getting behind the wheel without a license is an issue throughout the state, and he says it's largely because there's little consequence for it.

Man hit by car in Appleton has life-threatening injuries

Appleton police say an 80-year-old local man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car on W. Packard St. Tuesday night. The man was crossing in the 800-block when he was hit by a car going east on Packard at about quarter to 7. The man was lying in the road when officers arrived and was transported to a hospital.

Man with knife robs Appleton Dollar General store

On Dec. 28, at about 9:30 p.m., officers were called to a robbery at a Dollar General store in the 1300 block of W. Wisconsin Ave. A witness said a suspect with a knife held up the business and got away with cash. The suspect ran from the scene.
