Wow. Two hours of Film Junk. Still entertaining, but if all podcasts get this long I'll have to do my own Survivor: Podcast, where you guys will have to talk your asses of to win me over ;). Agree with you about the 1978 version of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. I saw it when it came out at the cinemas and it is an awesome movie. Love the ending. I thought the TV Fall preview would be dull, as I probably wont get to see these shows in Australia for another 18 months or so, if at all, so I can't relate. However it was funny. Greg was on fire in this segment. Everything was shit or lame. No one makes the word "lame" sound more like a kick in the guts than Greg. Funniest line goes to Jay: "I wanna see fat kids crushed with rocks". I laughed out loud at that. Jaded Jay at his best. What happened to the re-review segment? Nacho Libre was mentioned but not much analysis. Maybe it will be better next go round. Did I miss the defense-force segment? Keep up the good work.

I can't catch a break. I said no offense 'cause I meant no offense. I didn't mean to offend. To take it as critisism... That's a little defensive.

"Rather have it the other way around, something that everybody loves but you seem to hate." I think we do enough of that through the rest of the show, and I think people generally like hearing people talk passionately about a movie they love raher then rip something apart. "That, and no offense, but I’m a little tired of the defense of John Carpenter because his movies are western-esque and oldschool." No offense, but I was going to be talking about Lady in the Water, so maybe wait until the segment actually happens before criticizing it!

My point was that your description wasn't enough, not that the show itself would be bad. When you reduce it that much, it sounds boring. Frasier & Dexter could both be described as "A show about a person". That's not enough though, and Dexter requires more description for anybody to get an idea of what it is, and why it's different from anything else that features a serial killer, which is a pretty generic component in popular media.

"A show about a serial killer" = yawn... but I could reduce Frasier to "a show about a radio psychiatrist" and you come here to defend it. more hyperbole from you. Dude, I'm not saying "dexter" is the best show ever, but its all about presentation, acting, and story. How about you give it a chance before you take my one sentence line and judge like a dick.

A show about a serial killer? *YAWN* TV sounds to be in the shape of its life. I can't believe you don't like Frasier though. Seriously. It's one of my favorite shows, Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce are great. Don't care for the rest, especially the dad and maid, but that's par for the course with all shows. Even Cheers has Danny DeVitos talentless wife. I think the defense-force (which got canned?) is too used. Rather have it the other way around, something that everybody loves but you seem to hate. That would also be way easier to find candidates for on a regular basis. That, and no offense, but I'm a little tired of the defense of John Carpenter because his movies are western-esque and oldschool. Whatever you decide, you should alternate between the 3 of you, so every week a new guy gets to have his say about something. If you don't feel like doing that, you should have an emergency meeting and decide wether it's worth doing at all. P.S. It sucks that oscar thing wasn't recorded. I remember laughing at a prolonged debate about tits and other such good stuff.

I bought/saw the Invasion of the Body Snatchers CE the other day and it was the first time I saw it too. Damn it was good! The sound in this movie is so creepy that it would trip out a blind man. Any movie where taking illicit drugs as a means of survival is always a plus in any movie. I also think that Veronica Cartwright's screams is amazing. I totally agree with you Sean, great ending.

Thanks Marina. I was worried my rant went too long, but I think stardom is a topic I could go on about for some time. Maybe it will come up again in the future.

Great show guys and kudos to all of you, especially Jay, for the child actor discussion. I think you've totally nailed the child actor syndrome.
