Body of missing Oakville man recovered in Duckabush River

Brinnon Fire Chief Tim Manly said state Department of Ecology employees found Cruz near the Highway 101 bridge over the Duckabush River. He was recovered from waist-deep water at about 1 p.m. Cruz, 34, was swimming with friends at about 5 p.m. Saturday in the Duckabush River, according to the Peninsula Daily News.




Oakville man presumed drowned near Brinnon

An Oakville man is missing and presumed drowned after he tried to help pull a friend from a river in the Olympic National Forest near Brinnon, KOMO News reported. Jesse Cruz, 34, was swimming at about 5 p.m. Saturday with friends in the Duckabush River, according to the Peninsula Daily News.
