Javascript /CSS slider - images stretched?

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 13:51:43 +0000

I've not coded in some time and am trying to get a slider to work (from W3C) - I want a full width image banner slider, however all the images are showing as stretched and not in proportion, no matter what I've tried...any ideas how to rectify? (images are 940 x 627.)

="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
* {box-sizing: border-box}
body, html {
    height: 100%;
font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; margin:0
.mySlides {display: none}
img {vertical-align: middle; height: 300px;}

Match Style of Printed Page to be same for Webpage

Wed, 24 Jan 2018 01:55:52 +0000

I`m new to CSS and would like to what tool I can used to Match the Webpage look n feel with the printed page format.

Written Content of the webpage and the printed document is fine. However, its more of the look that is not matching for now.

I`ve limited time in my hand to get the changes and thus wanted to understand:

a) what area to look upon b) what tool to used

Sorry for asking too much in one query, but though to provide the exact issue.

Thanks in advance to the community for your suggestions and support.

Fixing Margin on Squarespace Codeblock

Fri, 08 Dec 2017 01:40:58 +0000

Hi There!
I'm working on a Squarespace site and am including a 'code-block' element that has an iframe of a congressional map. I want the map to have 100% width. Using Chrome's inspector, I can see there is a ton of margin on this, so if I can just identify the selector I could fix it. Please look at:

The selector appears to be #block-yui_3_17_2_18_1510086631780_10559

but adding margin zero to that has no effect.

Can the "transform: translateZ(0) trick" be used to optimise by Christmas snowfall animation? If so, how?

Mon, 20 Nov 2017 22:15:33 +0000

Greetings fine people,

I'm developing a Christmas theme CSS for my Reddit sub and I want it to be as optimized as possible.

Several forums, including this one, recommend using transform: translateZ(0); to encourage the use of video card GPU rather than the CPU, but I'm not entirely sure where to implement that change in my code.

Can someone please help me understand if the "translateZ((image) trick" will help me and where that CSS code should go?

Popup div over 'article' tag takes on the styles of the article, which I don't want.

Wed, 08 Nov 2017 11:30:58 +0000

Suppose I have a article inside an article tag. The article sometimes has its own CSS style declarations.
I also have DIV that pops up over the article. It is defined in the html before the article tag is encountered, but is moved above it by JavaScript. In Microsoft Edge (I did not test elsewhere), I find that the styles in the article are applied to the DIV. This is not good!
For instance, the popup DIV has a textarea that the user is supposed to enter an opinion into. Unfortunately sometimes that textarea is very small, due to a style that occurred in the main article.

How to make objects flow with text

Tue, 26 Sep 2017 15:03:18 +0000

I am trying to design a web page where I need a text input (for a "from" date), then the word "to", then another text input (for the "to" date). It is currently rendering with the two inputs first on the left, touching each other, and the word "to" a long way to the right. How do I get this to render as I want it?

Here is my HTML:
