Ha, I liked the 3rd foto from Dutch Fields; the keeper staring at the ball floating in the ditch. Very good.

Fantastic pictures and a great post. Some of these pictures are discussed in great detail in the great book Brilliant Orange by David Winner. Well worth looking at.

Ha, I liked the 3rd foto from Dutch Fields; the keeper staring at the ball floating in the ditch. Yeah, I liked that one too. No doubt he's about to complain loudly that he shouldn't have to go in after it because he didn't kick it there, while silently cursing some dieties for making him a goalkeeper. All the other players will stand at the far side of the pitch and say things like 'yeah but it's his job: he's the goalkeeper'. Play will be suspended until someone finds a big stick.

i love how 2 of the 3 pictures from italy have some knob rolling around the pitch in fake agony. i guess it's systemic.

This is great. Now I just have to find out which french team actually wears a full zebra striped kit, and buy one.
