Still alive, well yes.

Three kids now.

Still happily married, still a Latin teacher.

I have my blog in Dutch which I post in on a daily basis.

Wanna see how I'm doing, or want to see pics?

A good friend of mine released his first album, which came as a complete surprise to me!

I'd try to categorize it as being gothic soundscapes, and range it with Profane Grace, Raison d' être etc.

Personally, I love it! It's creepy and eery, and set in an asylum, hence the name.

Do me a big favour, and check it out at

Do leave a comment, if you like.

I must have been logged out for quite a while without noticing, so I didn't read any of the protected updates in a couple of weeks.

So, sorry if I didn't respond to an entry when you expected me to.

And yes, I'm still alive, and pretty much kicking too.

-Describe me in one word- just one single word. Positive or negative.

-Leave your word in a comment, before looking at what words others have used.

-Copy and paste the meme to your journal to find out how people describe you when limited to one word.

I miss my special Glod calendar :-(

The nude calendar from the local female rugby team (the one I used to play in) comes nowhere near.

So yes, I'm still alive, and I'm doing well.

The fact that I'm not posting here anymore (I tend to do that in Dutch on my own blog) doesn't mean I'm not an avid reader of your posts. I still read them every single day.

Hey now! Why is there all of a sudden advertisement on my LJ? I never asked for it nor agreed to it.

Or is it standard nowadays, just to pay for the servers?

Although I kinda neglected the photograph meme(image) glod started a while ago, I'd like to have another go at it.

Here's the link, and please, join in if you like :-)

I'd suggest water being the theme for this week (to be taken very broadly). Leave the picture in the comments :-) We can later transfer them to Glod's blog, as the idea is his and the pics belong there.

I still enjoy my limited edition of the Glodcalendar every single day. It's in my kitchen, and I watch it while I eat.

Wanted to say that for ages. Thanks, (image) glod !

Hmmm... Become a mother? Made a difference for quite a few young confused adolescents?

I don't really know, actually...

"If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you."

All you English-speaking people out there, I need your help.

Bart's firm is working on a CMS-system, called Fork. He has had the bright idea of not numbering the different versions, but calling them after different herbs. Preferably the names of those herbs should start with the same letter both in Dutch and English. So far we've got quite a few, but not all of them.

Last week they released Fork Cayenne. Could you give me a hand in finding names for the other letters? Don't worry about the Dutch translation, I'll provide that one, and we'll see about it then.

Anise (Anijs)
Basil (Basilicum)
Cayenne (Cayenne)
Dill (Dille)
Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus)
Ginseng (Ginseng) / Ginger (Gember)
Hyssop (Hysop)
Jasmine (Jasmijn) / Juniper (Jeneverbes)
Laurel (Laurier)
Mint (Munt)
Nettle (Netel)
Oregano (Oregano)
Paprika (Paprika) / Parsley (Peterselie) / Pepper (Peper)
Rosemary (Rozemarijn)
Saffron (Saffraan) / Sage (Salie)
Thyme (Tijm)
Vanilla (Vanille) / Valerian (Valeriaan)
Wasabi (Wasabi)

An Dro

Wed, 23 Apr 2008 20:56:15 GMT

On sunday afternoon, (image) zomermaantje(image) endimi(image) trinket410 and (image) riding_wolf came over to help me out with a school project. On Wednesday (being today) I wanted to do an initiation of court dancing for my third graders (15 years old), as the day was set in the Ancien Regime.
Both ladies taught me the An Dro, an ancient Breton dance, while Trinket accompanied us on his guitar. Very practical! Riding Wolf had tagged long as I promised to serve them chocolaty thingies. And so there was a chocolate mousse and later on a chocolate fondue. Good times were had, and I did learn a very nice dance indeed.

Today I taught this dance to 20 boys and girls aged 15. Can't say the boys were overly enthusiastic, but the girls were. Anyway, in little over an hour I managed to make half of them dance a perfect An Dro, while the other half kept stumbling over their own two feet and making mayonaise with their arms.  It was fun though :-)

So, yet another very big thank you, people! It was really worth while!

Gezocht: iemand die iets afweet van historische dansen en daar een uurtje les in kan geven, of me desnoods eentje kan doorleren. Ik zou namelijk graag mijn leerlingen van het derde jaar een uur initiatie geven...

Quite funny :-p (and yes, I'm still alive, but blogging in Dutch)

5 centimers of snow! At the end of March! It is not unheard of, but quite unusual, to say the least. It's the most snow we had in two years, I guess. Weird, weird. And here we are, all feeling springish and merry, with Easter hares and chicks and the works...

Picture taken especially for Ambyguity :-)

Oh, and every day I smile when I look at the calendar that hangs in my kitchen. Thanks again, Glod, it's so much appreciated!

Actually, it's about my voice. It seems to be low, rather particular, and is commonly denominated as sexy. Hey, at least one part of me is :-p
