How should I proceed from here?

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 15:23:20 GMT

Ok, so I'm still a little newb. It's only been 3 months since I've lifting heavy things. A drop in the bucket. I've been in a cut the whole time, not drastic, but I feel like I may be hitting a point where it might be time to start transitioning at least towards maintenance, if not a light bulk....

Doing something different and need some advice

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 14:48:57 GMT

So I was doing a pretty basic routine on weight lifting prior to this week. I used Dumbbells for most of my workout but not really getting anywhere as no motivation working at home, and not seeing any real gains (been doing so for the past two years) so I joined a Gym. I'm 37 soon to be 38 and I'm...

Weight gain, same for all?

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 09:55:48 GMT

I have been patiently trying to manage 1/2pound a week in weight gain. Most say add 200 calories a day to do so, if I add a piece of wheat toast (with butter) daily I gain 2 pounds, I'm sure of all fat in the stomach, what gives? Is it possible I need to add 200 calories extra a week or every other...

Deliberately took 6 weeks off

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 05:05:23 GMT

Per a Greg Nuckols thread, decided to take 6 weeks off. Tomorrow will be first day back. Goal was to try and reset rbe (repeated bout effect). The idea is to exceed max lifts that have been stalled for 2 years, excepting Deads. First 2 weeks will be nothing higher than rpe 8 while I reacclimate...

Can you "even out" excess eating the following day?

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 04:58:01 GMT

Yesterday I ate 4,300 calories and today I ate 2,300 to bring me back to my target average (3.3k). I know, not a good habit, something I rarely do. Intuition would suggest I added about 1/4 lb of fat yesterday and today suppressed muscle growth. On the forums I've read the rolling 3 day average...

Rotator cuff pain

Thu, 19 Apr 2018 14:14:39 GMT

Last few weeks I’ve been getting rotator cuff pain in my right shoulder, particularly with pull downs, but was also there on chest press and flies last night. The pull downs really irritate it. Should I forget pull downs until it stops hurting, or go light?

Something Different, AtG Squats as a quad "finisher"

Thu, 19 Apr 2018 13:40:04 GMT

About a month ago, I started doing something slightly "different", and I like it so much I decided to share. I'm not declaring any science, claiming any results, or boasting about something new and revolutionary...just that I like it. (skip to final paragraph if you don't want to read all this). ...

Building my first home gym

Sat, 14 Apr 2018 05:38:36 GMT

After belonging to my local gym for almost 5 years it’s time to build my own gym. I did some research and picked up a Body solid GPR370 rack, a Powerblock adjustable bench, a Rogue Echo bar and 350LBS of run of the mill steel plates. I already have a set of adjustable dumbbells. I feel like I...

Elbow jacked (PICTURES INCLUDED) Looking for advice.

Thu, 12 Apr 2018 06:00:35 GMT

Hi I am a first time user attempting to get advice on this forum. THought I’d post here at the age of 35 knowing that most of us aren’t bulletproof anymore. Here’s my deal: since junior high I could never fully supinate my right hand. Only hammer curls until college I started to force a...

Coming back at 51

Wed, 11 Apr 2018 23:27:40 GMT

Hi, 1st post on here and looking for some advice. I'm 51 and haven't trained for approx. 16yrs. I was in pretty good shape when I stopped training and have recently got the 'bug' back. I've done a bit of light stuff at home and am ready to hit the gym again but have some questions. At 51 how...

Lower back injury

Wed, 11 Apr 2018 01:28:36 GMT

Had a lower back injury today while cable rowing (probably in a bad form). It was bad, I heard a "crack" and couldn't even get up but I can walk around now and sit up. This is the second time this happens to me (last time it was worse, while carrying some water boxes). I'm very disappointed as I...

Fix buttwink?

Tue, 10 Apr 2018 13:11:00 GMT

Anyone ever have this problem and fix it? What was the procedure you used? Please note that I high bar, and wear Adidas lifting shoes. Not sure if that makes a difference in the method used to work through this. I have noticed that since I am pushing my squats a little harder lately...
