June's Creative Challenge- Red, Blue & Yellow

2016-06-01T00:02:01.802+01:00

Dear Neglected Blog and Blog Readers
I am so sorry I haven't posted on here for about 6 months. How terrible is that?!
I am back with a little post for our Creative Team Challenge for this month which is Red, Blue & yellow, and can be interpreted anyway you like, as long as it has rubber stamping in it.
You can find all the details here

I made a couple of tags, and started by scraping PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints all over the tags.

I then added the same paint through a couple of  Artistic Stamper masks, and stamped with one of our calligraphic mats using Archival ink, adding swirls and circles too .

Check out the fact that red, blue and yellow are the primary colours, and therefore makes other colours!

I do hope that you like them, and please do join in our challenge, either on the blog or on Facebook.

I look forward to seeing your creations.
Have a creative day

December's Creative Team Challenge-Christmas

2015-12-01T08:42:46.386+00:00

This month for our Creative Team Challenge the theme is Christmas.
I dug out a very old but fab die from Accucut and made some simple but effective gift boxes. The red one was embossed with Christmas Strippers from The Artistic Stamper, and then gone over with red Distress Ink I added the mini Small but Beautiful Father Christmas on the side. T
he green one was stamped  and embossed in green with the large Holly Background  and coloured in with with Lucky Clover Distress Marker. I then distress inked all over it with the new November colour -- Lucky Clover. Worked a treat. If you would like any of these dies, small or large please email me.

Looking forward to seeing your Christmas creations over at the team blog challenge

Have a creative day

The Artistic Stamper Creative Challenge for November

2015-11-01T10:18:22.276+00:00

Hi! This month, the challenge over on The Creative Team blog is Fabric. We have so many gorgeous background stamps that are fabric related that I thought i would make a card that incorporated as many as possible.I cut out card squares to fit an 8" x 8" card, and stamped them all up with Archival inks, and distress inks. I also white embossed the lace backgrounds, and then distress inked them. Finally I glued them all down, and zig zag machine stitched them onto the card, giving it a patchworky feel. Here is the card, plus each individual block...I would love to know which is your favourite... mine is the lace, or maybe the red polka dot...lolPlease do join in the challenge. You can interpret it anyway you like, as long as it has some stamping in it.Have a creative day{hugs} [...]

Creative Team Challenge- Things with Wings

2015-09-01T09:27:51.095+01:00

Dear neglected Blog readers, I have been creating workshops, and working in the shop, and neglecting this poor old blog and my readers for quite some time! However this month, I have taken part in the Creative Team challenge , which is Things With Wings, and unbeknown to any of the team, we all chose the same stamp set! Dance is a conglomeration of ballet and wings and saying, and lends itself perfectly to this challenge! I used a previously created tag, which was inked with Distress inks, and embossing powder through mask. I then cut out the ballet dancer and added distress ink to her, plus some fine netting ( available in the shop only).  The wings were cut out of old dictionary paper. Please do pop along to the Creative Team blog, and check out the other dancers :)Have a very creative day{hugs} [...]

Mad as a March Hare- New Creative Team Challenge

2015-03-01T00:01:00.194+00:00

The Spring is coming, and those flowers and leaves are popping their heads up through the soil, and the sun is getting warmer, and yes! March is here along with the spring!! It's time for another challenge over at The Creative Team Blog, and yes you have guessed it.. the theme is Spring is coming! I have created a journal page entitled Mad as a March hare. © The Artistic StamperI sprayed the page with Dylusions Sprays in blues and greens, and then added a Crafters Workshop stencil with PaperArtsy Fresco paints in Hey Pesto and Yellow submarine. I then added stamps from Botanical Plate 1 ( the daisy) and also the simple swirl from the Simple Swirls plate. I also added the bubbles from Borders A6 2 . The birds from Birds of Feather were embossed in black for that touchy/feely touch to the page... I like to be able to feel texture on my journal pages! © The Artistic StamperI then cut out the Hare , which I downloaded from The Graphics Fairy, and added him to the page and hid him behind one of the flowers, which I carefully cut around.© The Artistic StamperI do hope you like my contribution to the challenge, and go on join in, you know you want to! You can find the new challenge here. Have a very creative day{hugs} [...]

It's a Floral Fusion!

2014-05-17T06:33:34.044+01:00

Last Month I taught a class using the meltpot, and a new substrate , which will be available soon from The Artistic Stamper.I had a lot of fun creating this , and used colours that I don't normally use, spring colours! I will be teaching a smaller version of this at Christine Emberson's shop Hope and Chances on 6th July, and this particular version at a retreat held by Ali-Crafts on 7th September. My saddest moment this week is that Ranger have decided to discontinue the meltpot, and I, for one, am more than disappointed as I have been creating with it ever since Suze Weinberg introduced it, and that seems like forever! I remember the day I got my first one, after having seen it being demonstrated by Suze at CHA ( or HIA as it was called then) and a friend of mine and I ordered one each in from the USA and used a transformer to get it to work. I still have that same pot!! It is without doubt my favourite tool for crafting, other than the Heat-it gun!! I promise that I will continue to teach it as long as people still have a meltpot, and if you don't then, we still have a couple or two in the shop.Anyway, I have digressed as always and here are some photos of my Floral Fusion. © The Artistic Stamper  © The Artistic Stamper  © The Artistic Stamper © The Artistic Stamper © The Artistic Stamper© The Artistic Stamper I hope you like  it. White Wedding...

2014-05-07T09:19:33.266+01:00

Last month the daughter of a friend of mine got married in Australia. I wish I could have gone to the land of plenty, but it wasn't to be.... However I made a card for Rowan and Steve. (Yes! I made another card!) and was rather chuffed with it. I used Grunge paste mixed with Snowflake Fresco Paint, and scraped through a Crafter's Workshop stencil. Then I used Dina Wakley's Spilled Hearts dabbed with Distress Paint for an accent.

Thank you for looking and have a creative day
