E3 2012: Assassin's Creed 3 – first look

allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='' FRAMEBORDER='0' />A new engine and a new outlook make Ubisoft's latest historical stab-'em-up smoother and faster-moving than ever; just what the series needs after a couple of lacklustre sequels. Assassins Creed 3: 'It should have been about dolphins'It's surprising how lightly the Creative Director of AC3, Alex Hutchinson, takes his charge. I asked him how things were going on the project as it gears up for release in Autumn this year after an intensive development cycle lasting almost three years: "Eh, it's okay. It could be better. It'd better if it was about dolphins. I think we should have done dolphins."Ecco the Dolphin did all right; I think I'd want an actual Assassin dolphin, though, because no-one expects the dolphins, right? They spring over the side of the ship and – dead. Perfect. If we really run out of ideas for 4, then yeah, we'll do dolphins. We'll jump the shark. With a dolphin. Yes."He's obviously more than a little tired, but with a game as this under your control, you'd have every right to be. Hopefully he isn't serious about the dolphins. The new title, set against the backdrop of the American civil war and featuring large open woodland areas in addition to the cities that have been the staple of the series so far, has benefited from an entirely new game engine. To differentiate Connor – the new half-British, half-Native American hero - from his predecessors, all his movements have been rebuilt from the ground up. And he's got a lot of movements to throw around."We tried to keep Connor as fluid and as dynamic as possible," continues Alexander, once he finished talking about dolphins. "The game so far has been about fluid movement, and we tried to integrate that movement into the fight. On the controls, now, right-trigger is sprint whether you're inside or outside combat and you no longer need to lock on to enemies, so you can run always out of a fight with ease."For a game ostensibly about free-running, the previous Creed games lacked momentum when it came to combat; assassinations (one-button kills) would effectively stop the flow of play and combat would often descend into a waiting game where the player would stand motionless in a circle of guards, daring one to strike so that they could counter-attack, run him through, and get on with their day. With AC3, though, it looks like that's about to change."You can assassinate people on the move; so instead of running up to someone, stopping and killing them there you can run at someone, kill them and carry on running as long as they're not in open conflict." As long as they're not aware you're about to kill them, in other words. "If they switch to that state you'll have to fight them, but you can chain all these things together: so I could run in, assassinate one guy, go straight into a proper fight with another guy, and at a certain point go 'screw this' and run out of the fight, all of it without ever stopping."On paper it sounds pretty similar to the older Creed games – games where it's traditional to initiate a fight by leaping off a building and killing two men as you land with your trademark hidden wrist blades, and running away has always been an option, albeit an awkward one – but in motion it's far, far superior.Connor moves freely from enemy to enemy and offs them with ease, occasionally taking out more than one in a single kill move (stabbing a man with a bayonet and shooting his friend with the attached musket, for example) and even though it's hard to tell whether the average player will be able to pull off stylish combat like this, it's encouraging to see how straightforward it looks.Plus, both urban chase sequences we've seen so far have ended with Connor bursting through an open first-storey window and out the other side of the building rather than – as was the fashion [...]

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe and a reinterpretation of the events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W's) add to the mix as players not only compete against an opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters.
It is September 1998 and the action centers once more on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak from the Umbrella facility. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors. Hearing of this plan, the US Government dispatches its own special forces to uncover any evidence that exposes the cause of the viral infection and Umbrella's actions. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in four player co-op in a battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.

Black OPS 2: Are You Ready?

Can you wait? Are you super excited? Did you Pre-Order? Have you bought the shirt? There is now a release date for Black Ops 2 of Nov. 13 2012 and the gaming world is already buzzing.  This latest creation from Activision and Treyarch will add one more notch to the Call of Duty belt.  Based on the comments from the trailer people can't wait for this new version as there seems to be some disappointment with MW3 and they need the next game and they need it now. Wait didn't they say that about Black Ops?  Wasn't there mass disappointment about the maps and shooting mechanics? In fact the whole series has very vocal critics of it and it's lack of creativity.  Why do we think the next game will be any different?  Maybe we are hopeful that they will listen to us and make the next one they way we "want."  I believe that Call of Duty is a cash cow losing steam and they are going to cash in while they can.  Battlefield 3 has gained a huge fan base and converted many CoD players and most lists don't even have CoD at the top of the most anticipated shooters anymore. The money, lets not forget the money. MW3 has a cost of over a hundred dollars for the "complete" experience and with rumors of Elite for Black Ops 2 how can they think a yearly upgrade for over a hundred dollars will fly in this economy? This is a common complaint about a lot of games. Call of Duty being sited as one of the worst offenders for the DLC costs.  I have written before singing the praises of video game value and the importance of DLC to continued gaming but believe that Call of Duty has crossed over from valuable to just plain costly. I enjoy playing Call of Duty, especially multi-player with friends, but I'm not ready to see a new version of the game.  I don't trust that we can blindly assume that the next one will fix the continued issues of the franchise; then again I have said this about games and developers before.Read more:[...]

Square Enix E3 lineup revealed, guess what’s missing

Square Enix has announced seven games that they will be showcasing at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. The games are Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider; IO Interactive’s Hitman: Absolution; United Front Games’ Sleeping Dogs; Airtight Games’ Quantum Conundrum; n-space’s Heroes of Ruin and two internally developed titles; Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

Notice what’s missing in the list? That’s right, there will again be no update on the one title every Square Enix fan was hoping for, Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Game director Tetsuya Nomura said previously that there will be news regarding the highly anticipated title but hoping for an E3 appearance was too good to be true. Let’s hope it will be showed off sooner rather than later.

Assassin’s Creed 3 will bring American revolution to the fore

Ubisoft has gathered a lot of history over the years of creating records with their hit franchise, Assassin’s Creed. Coming out with Assassin’s Creed 3, the gaming major would be revisiting the history books once again with the epic game which is now covering the phase of American Revolution in this particular edition. And that’s not all, the game’s writers, Corey May and Matt Turner have chosen assassin Connor, a native American-Indian with a British father. And they have brought in a remarkable number of historical figures along with their anecdotes to the fore. This edition will have the presence of Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding figures of America with his follies and

finesse. The game would share his weakness for women and see him playing a cameo in the role.
The era which was marked with the advent of battles fought man-to-man will see a variety of unique weapons including Tomahawk, knives, bows and arrows, along with rusty bayonets which make the gameplay diverse from other games. The assassin slays all the historical figures from the era in a story which is weaved between the incidents in the history of the Revolution. The game has garnered its own set of loyal fans who love this unique combination between history and technology. Meanwhile, Ubisoft is rewarding the fans who have pre-ordered the latest edition with a steelbook packaging, with art by comic book artist Alex Ross. Well, the latest edition has recorded amazing sales even as Ubisoft is facing a legal case over the concept from writer John Beiswenger which may stall the sales of the epic series.

First Look at God of War: Ascension Multi-Player

allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='' FRAMEBORDER='0' />

An all-new multiplayer mode will allow furious Grecian deities to team up for a bout of online monster bashing in 2013's PlayStation 3 game God of War: Ascension.

It's the first time that the series has incorporated a multiplayer mode, and Ascension's take on the standard sees two teams of four face off, vying for the favor of the Gods over a series of stages built for the occasion.

Anti-hero Kratos is kept for the single-player mode; four customizable combatants owe allegances to Ares (God of War), Hades (God of the Underworld), Poseidon (God of the Sea) or Zeus (God of Thunder).

The unusual multiplayer mode mixes the sort of territorial tactics standard in a round of Battlefield 3 with a taste of the now fashionable horde modes, as computer-controlled monsters attack (Gears of War 3 being a prime example), while each team duels for the right to take on the level's signature God of War boss.

Risen 2: Dark Waters Eng|Multi8 RiP MediaFire Links

With an expanded setting, a fresh story and characters as well as an all-new technical foundation, Risen 2 expands on the success of this popular RPG franchise. Set several years after the end of Risen, the game drops players into a cataclysmic world where raging titans have devastated the planet and pushed humanity to the brink of existence. Subsequently, monstrous creatures have risen from the watery depths of the sea and their attacks have brought all seafaring to a grinding halt. The hero, now a member of the Inquisition, is sent out to find out how to stop the chaos caused by these creatures from the deep. His quest begins with rumors that the pirates who frequent the southern islands are the only ones who know a way to get rid of the creatures once and for all and end their reign of terror.
With an all-new pirate-based theme, Risen 2: Dark Waters aims to combine the most loved classic RPG gameplay mechanics of the original Risen with a fresh theme and setting on a huge variety of themed island locales. Risen 2: Dark Waters maintains the most immersive features of the original Risen, with multiple approaches to every challenge allowing players to shape the game world based on their own decisions. These choices will serve to unlock new paths, features and additional skills for the character.

Prince Of Persia 2008 PC:So, imagine you're Ubisoft. Tucked away in your portfolio, you've got Prince of Persia: Sands of Time – one of the most enchanting, critically lauded games ever made. What's the best way to drive fans away from a beloved franchise? Prince of Persia: Warrior Within PCPrince of Persia: The Sands of Time ranks among the very best console action-adventure games of this generation. Despite the critical acclaim, Ubisoft decided to tinker with the formula in hopes of attracting a wider audience with Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The result is a much darker Prince, who speaks in a gravelly voice, travels through a rather grim labyrinth of saw blades and spiked floors, and is solely concerned with saving his own butt, no matter who he has to take down in order to do so.
