Hi Alison, I realise that but you did give me a kick up the bum to actually post something this year! Thanks for being concerned though. I know it's wrong, but we rarely bother with travel insurance as we were caught out years ago when a hire car was broken into and our cameras were stolen. The travel insurance wouldn't pay as we'd left the car unattended even though our valuables were in the boot. Household insurance covered it. I suppose if we felt we needed the health element that would be different. Haylage is wrapped hay so wetter than hay but drier than silage. I don't think it's anything new but it's adequate when the weather is rubbish. Have a good time in Seaton.

So glad to read your post. Obviously you have no obligation to post, but after your previous adventures I was worried something else even worse had happened! You have been really busy, I've never been to Paris - well, I've never been out of this country - but it sounds like you had a good time. I don't think I'll make it now though, my husband's health isn't great and I think we'd struggle to get travel insurance. We are going to Seaton next month though! Glad you mentioned haylage, I saw this on a sign outside a farm and wondered what it was. I've heard of silage but not haylage until this year. Is it something new?

My you've been busy, and I was going to say let's meet up again. Glad everything on the farm is OK - ish...... I haven't been to Poole since I was about ten, so it may well have changed a lot.

I still keep checking your blog hoping for an entry and worrying that something else has happened to you - hope you're all OK.

I think this was the problem Alison. He thinks he's still little and can bound about! I was very scared of him afterwards, but now just exercising extreme caution whenever I know he's around. I don't know how long nerves take to come back to normal and I suppose since it doesn't affect movement I could put up with the numbness. I'd rather not though.

What a frightening experience :( I expect Felix was just very pleased to see you but doesn't realise his own strength. I'd be very wary now though if it was me but that's really no help at all, is it? I hope you continue to be safe and that your numb back gradually gets back to normal.

Ooh, don't be sad, it could have been very much worse. Thank you for the hugs. I'm sure it would be much safer there. Jx

Thanks Alison, it did hurt. Your husband obviously thought you put yourself under the seagull on purpose! They are disgusting creatures - the seagulls, not husbands. Oh, wait ..... (image)
