If I remember correctly, I did that by hand. I just used the script to get the names. To add a space, though, you might just use the + as a concatenation character. authorname+' '+comment

Thanks for commenting. Let me know how it goes!

Hi, I used your code, with many thanks: my question is, how do I put a space between the author's name and the comment excerpt?

thank you on advance for your help.
Tony Scarcia

PS: Here is the code, thanks.-------------------------------------------------------------

commentsLEFT OUTER JOIN $wpdb->posts ON ($wpdb->comments.comment_post_ID =$wpdb->posts.ID)WHERE comment_approved = '1' AND comment_type = '' ANDpost_password = ''ORDER BY comment_date_gmt DESCLIMIT 10";$comments = $wpdb->get_results($sql);$output = $pre_HTML;$output .= "\n";$output .= $post_HTML;echo $output;?>

This podcast episode seems so sad, now, listening to it three months later. I sometimes get the itch to start it back up. Maybe just to put some music out and the occasional random thought. I do miss the music, but as I mentioned in this episode, I can't commit to making it the best it can be.

Re: JIMM 16 – The Cheryl Dawson Memorial Walk-a-thon

Sun, 06 Sep 2009 06:52:07 -0000

I remember LOTS of editing the week after I recorded all the audio. Probably something like what reality TV show staff do with all the footage they collect. It was a very instructive exercise, and I'm very impressed with the way it turned out, given that I'd only been podcasting for about a month when I'd released it. Clearly one of my all-time favorite episodes of my own show.

Daniel - what a great use of podcasting. It was a really good idea for making a show that makes a difference to people and raises awareness. The little chat with your daughter was a moment of magic.
best wishes

Re: JIMM 1 – About JIMM

Tue, 04 Aug 2009 12:14:41 -0000

Oh my goodness. Listening to this reminds me of the effort it took to get everything to sound the way that it did. From editing all that music together, figuring out how to edit files in Audacity, and even figure out what I was going to say. I think this was recorded sometime after 2 AM on August 22, 2005. I should have been sleeping, but I was so excited, having figured out how to be a DJ.

So much has changed in four years!

Daniel, I really enjoyed this podcast. I didn't mind the lack of microphone, since you were sitting outside. I could hear the birds and it felt like we were having a conversation together. It was a great start to my morning! Thanks and see you at lunch!

I know that there are some e-mail subscription features to FeedBurner and some other RSS services that let content producers know who is subscribed that way. I'm not completely sure I agree with the statements made here. Should it really be implied that a connection made through a social network is closer than a connection via a blog or RSS feed?

Re: Memorial to Robin Broxterman and Brian Schira

One year later, and it still hurts. Interestingly enough, I found out from my Mom that she shared a room at the hospital with Robin's mom on the day I was born. Yes, Robin and I were born at the same hospital on the same day. Small world indeed.

Thank you for sharing. Hopefully, more and more victims of domestic violence take action on the crime being done against them. Help is out there - solicitors, hotlines, etc.
