Comment on ConCon voting: YES is YES, NO is NO, non-response is… by Tyler

So scary (no pun intended given what today is) to think people actually thought a blank would be counted as a "yes." We might be better off if these people could never vote. While I am a definite NO vote, I think people are overreacting to what actually would, or not, happen. Don't forget, the ultimate vote to pass legislation, in 2019, is up to the people.

Are you a Shareholder? Write a letter or email the Board and see if they'll give you details. Sometimes you can catch them in the store. They didn't resign en masse. One resigned for personal reasons. Shortly after two resigned at about the same time and cited communication issues with other members of the Board. Just recently another left for a similar reason. I think things will improve and be ok if Board members work on communication skills and if people who are good at communication and interested in serving the Co-op run and are elected. No worries. We just need a lot more Shareholders who are willing to invest time on the floor and in governance. Hint, hint.

I just saw this post this morning while reading your most recent one. I hope I'm not too late to the party, as it's likely your blog is now not long for this site. Don't think for a moment that these blogs being silenced is unrelated to the Times Union suddenly (and quietly) turning off the comments on all news stories. It sounds like the house lawyer has the editorial staff hamstrung with threats of impending libel suits. It reminds me of when a town attorney for a local municipality literally took over the town government and had it paralyzed with inaction for years until the town board grew a pair (can I say that? is it lewd? pornographic?) and fired him. It's interesting that many of Rex's recent Saturday editorials deal with the First Amendment and the relationship between the press and the current administration. Apparently he's only concerned with his first amendment rights. Anyway, this web site has gotten a lot less interesting lately, and I'm spending waaaay less time on it. Tell that to your clickbait advertisers around the edges of the screen, Rex.

Good grief!! What’s next, an investigation by the Attorney General’s office?

Just when I thought that I could not possibly have less respect for journalists, the TU hits a new low. The double standard here is appalling, the behavior of Rex Smith and Tena Tyler is appalling, but none of it is surprising.
