I was wondering to myself about Muhammad's recent trip back to the home of his ancestors. Perhaps we should celebrate his visit by enticing all the sons and daughters of County Clare, in distant lands, to pay a similar return visit to the home of their forefathers. It is, after all, a most beautiful county with the most welcoming of people. From the Burren landscape to the Cliffs of Moher, from the shores of Lough Derg to the mouth of the Shannon, from the rocks that wrecked the Armada to the Square of the Great Emancipator, we can now add O'Gradys Turnpike. For it was there that Ali came to claim the sod of earth which represents his heritage. "He touched the earth, stood in the space. Moved with emotion, joy on his face. Brought the sod home, forever a bond. Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ireland" Would it not be a good idea to commerate his visit by making a copy of the Ballad available to all ancestors of Clare to celebrate their heritage next St. Patricks day ! This could be part of a commemorative mailshot, which would encourage similar journeys back to County Clare. The combination of this CD and accompaning information would surely represent an innovative way to connect with our great Diaspora. I have recently discussed this and other ideas with the Mayor of Ennis, Mr. Frankie Neylon and he has given me his full support as he explores the possibilities with his fellow Councillors and our local Tourism authorities. Watch this space for further developments on this matter. Dermot Kelly. PS. I will soon be posting the ammended recording of Ali's ballad so watch this space !

Very nice video Corey. My favorite moment was when the youngster placed his fingers to Ali's fingers seperated only by the car window. Sweet!
