Teacher at Wexford school alleged to have taped schoolgirls' mouths

Ger O'Donoghue is a new name in Wexford politics as he launches election campaign

WHILE an election could be some ways off just yet, a new face in Wexford politics is determined to hit the ground running as he officially launched his campaign for election to Dáil Eireann. Davidstown native Gerald O'Donoghue announced his intention to run in the next general election under the banner of Renua Ireland, one of Ireland's newest political parties.

Carmel's book vying for Popular Fiction Book of the Year award

Ardcavan houses turned down by An Bord Pleanála

A Wexford businessman's plan to build a housing estate and two car showrooms on the outskirts of town in Ardcavan, has been halted by An Bord Pleanála which ruled that the proposal is contrary to zoning and could lead to flooding and traffic hazards in the area.

Artist Serena is all at sea in kilmore quay

NBRU leaflet casts train drivers in a bad light

It's a relief that the rail stoppages have been suspended. I can remember when Tom Darby set up the National Busmen's Union in 1963, which later expanded to include rail workers and is now the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU). Over the years I have got to know a number of locomotive drivers. There is a long and proud history in Ireland of the men, and now women, who drive our trains. In the days of steam they did tough and dirty jobs. Train drivers work hard. Today their jobs are cleaner and the conditions have much improved.






Break-in at design company, not pharmacy
