Comment on Missing Worcester man found by Ann Hessenius

Thu, 30 Jun 2011 04:28:18 +0000

Yes, Joshua Fask of Worcester, MA was found one year ago tomorrow, June 30, 2010, at approximately 1:30pm EDT, onboard our charteryacht INTEGRITY at the Seaport World Trade Center Boston, which he had broken into sometime during the previous 18 hours. He was found by the yacht's First Mate, who saw first-hand the very serious destruction of property aboard the vessel that had just taken place. Within 15 minutes, Mr. Fask was arrested by the MA State Police and taken to the barracks at Logan Airport, and one year later this case is STILL in court, unresolved. The gravity of the Fask incident put the yacht out of business, and has taken a tremendous financial, emotional, and physical pain and suffering for its owner.

Belgium is my home country, in April I returned for 6 weeks while there I visited the memorial 3 times first time when I got there, the secont on Memorial day and the third time 2 days before I returned to Philadelphia. 2 days before memorial day my friend and I purchased 10 dozen of roses before leaving the States I purchased 100 American flags, together we attached 2 roses and a flag with a bleu and white rubon, we did this on the American cimetery's stepes then we placed these arangements on the graves of 8 of the "WERETH 11" then on graves that have been adopted by Belgians, my friends. One of my friends made a documentary about the "WERETH 11" I had the chance to see it when I was visiting him in Belgium, A great documentary but so painfull to watch.

Comment on WPI says students must choose between speaker and receiving diploma on stage by kl chipman

Mon, 16 May 2011 17:06:31 +0000

as the parent of one of these students, i was not aware of the ramifications of this silent protest. imagine my heartbreak as i proudly waited for my son to cross the stage to receive his diploma and his name was skipped over. i learned that the "protesters" would go after everyone else, yet my heart broke once again when we met up for reception and i asked to see his diploma which had been withheld. what should have been one of a parents proudest days was marred by the decision to have a commencement speaker who does not represent the vision of the future that WPI graduates share. i am however very proud of the few who value their integrity over the bullying tactics of the administration. it is those students who bring hope for the future.

I'd leave & have mine mailed to me & be proud of standing up for my beliefs. Haven't visited an Exxon since 89' under my own car's power.

Comment on WPI Commencement saga comes to an end by Rabble Rouser

I am a former WPI engineering student. I found more value in what I learned in my social and political philosophy minor. I fully support the alternative speaker, and wish I could be there for the ceremony, and hope there will be some direct action during Tillerson's speech.

Guess we should enjoy the clean streets and sidewalks while we can. We could keep it this way if Worcester would set aside one day every month from April to November - say the 22nd (the Master Builder in numerology) - to do the four-hour Earth Day clean-up. I think, too, we should double the pay-rates of the city workers who pick up our trash and recycling every week and sweep our streets in the middle of the night. Apart from the fresh water system and public order, sanitation is the best thing the Romans have ever done for us.
