Does "La Debacle" have any artistic merit? Is it in the same league with "Germinal" or "La Bete Humaine"? Does "Travail" or "Verite" have any artistic merit? I am asking you because according to Harold Bloom, you are the world foremost authority on Zola. Also, in your study of Flaubert, why do you largely ignore Sartre's work in "L'idiot de la famille"?
