I read that book a few weeks ago, and really loved it. Well researched, excellently illustrated, definitely a Must Read in my book.

Howdy Miss Heather, yes maam, it is working now. Thanks for the heads up.

I had to grin, as it reminded me of why I would drop my daughter off at the mall (before she had her license), hand her my credit card, and say call me when you are through hon. Come to think of it some of the stuff she came home with at times was a bit bloody, roflmao.

Thanks Mr. Jay, it was a great one. I can see why it helped your day some too Miss Heather (grinning).

haha Heather, glad you got a kick out of the vid!

I'm looking forward to reading that book, it's in a pile marked "to be read". So much to do and so little time!

Try the link again Jed. I didn't change it any, and it took me to the right page and all. Maybe the site was just down at the time you tried it. Hope it works for you now.

Well shucks Miss Heather. I am sorry to hear you had such a crummy day yesterday sweet lady. Here is hoping that today makes up for it for you maam. When you get a chance, please check that link for the commercial. I was all set to see what made you grin, but it would not work for me.You have put an idea firmly in my head too sweet lady, that I need to thank you for. There are some days when physically I know when I get up, will not be good days for me to try to do anything. I will often grumble on such days that "there ain't a damn thing on cable I ain't seen four times already!!!!" As much as I love to read, and as low impact as it would be for me on those days, I need to break out a book and enjoy the distractions it offers. There are enough used book stores around my neck of the woods, that I bet with just a little work, I could have a nice selection of some of the true horror classics too. Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Mummy, some of the works of Poe, and others readily come to mind. But now that I have typed them, I am wondering how easily they will be to find too, lol. They may well not be the normal reading subjects of folks who used the book stores. I reckon I will just have to see, but thanks for hitting me right between the eyes on this one too Miss Heather - ya done good maam.I know that the zombie subgenre is not really a favorite for either of us sweet lady. But like you, reading through the review and some of the titles, made me realize just how many of the zombie flicks I have actually watched. Of course, he wrote the book and I would only be reading it. But he and I would have some major issues on some of the titles he chose to include as zombie movies. One great example for me would be THE INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS. As much as I enjoyed that movie (both the original and the remake), there is no way in hell I would ever call it a zombie movie. Of course I would not classify 28 DAYS LATER in that subgenre either. I guess the major advantage of writing the book is that you can choose to include or ignore the movies that you discuss. You can also use your own measurement scale to determine how good or poor a flick each one was. So the good thing about that is it leaves the door open for anyone else to write their own book that argues/debates his choices too I reckon. (HINT: nah I am not enough of a zombie fan to ever consider that one, so don't look for my book on the topic, lol.)It is not that I dislike zombie movies at all. I think for me it is more than I often feel that they get a bit overused at times. For example, I would want to debate with anyone who wanted to call 28 DAYS LATER a zombie flick. So overused, mis-tagged, take your choice I guess, lol. But hopefully folks see what I mean by that. I am also very much like you too Miss Heather. There are times when I just want to enjoy a interesting horror to pass the time. I don't feel the burning need to watch it then have a self-debate involving the deeper meanings of life (grinning). So I see nothing for me that says a movie that does not make you debate life is not worth watching.I really enjoyed your choice to review a horror related book sweet lady. But even more so for the reminder it gave me to turn off the tube (or at least cut the volume down) and open a good horror book on days I will be a couch potato. I have a few books here already I could read, or more honestly re-read (which I do not object to at all really). But now I just need to hit a used book store or three and see what I can find waiting for me there too sweet lady.Well to my favorite sick puppette, here's hoping that today more than makes up for such a crummy yesterday for you pretty lady. I am also looking forward to reading your thoughts on ROSE RED, and am already anticipating the screener and interviews, along with other flicks you have waiting. So far, the wait has always been worth it to me [...]
