PawSox to Host 3rd Annual Enchanted Village Holiday Party for all fans December 2

The Pawtucket Red Sox will offer their 3rd Annual "PawSox Enchanted Village" Holiday Party at McCoy Stadium on Saturday, December 2 from 11 am - 2 pm. The event, in which the ballpark becomes a Winter Wonderland, is free and open to fans of all ages. Red Sox Hall of Famer & NESN color analyst, Jerry Remy and former Red Sox All-Star catcher & current PawSox hitting coach, Rich Gedman will be in attendance at McCoy to meet fans. Mascots Paws and Sox as well as Santa Claus will also greet fans young and old.



PawSox Present 3rd Annual Veterans Day Steak Dinner

The Pawtucket Red Sox tonight presented their 3rd annual "Veterans Day Steak Dinner" in the PawSox' Clubhouse at venerable McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket. At the event, PawSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg presented a ceremonial check from the PawSox Foundation for $5,000 that will be distributed to various veterans causes this year.



Drive Receive John H. Johnson President's Award from Minor League Baseball

The Greenville Drive's 2017 season has been filled with highlights from start to finish. The season began with the unveiling of a sparkling new $14 million enhancement project to Fluor Field, and continued with the organization's first South Atlantic League Championship. The year will also end with a flourish, as the Drive have been selected by Minor League Baseball as the recipient of the John H. Johnson President's Award, the most prestigious award handed out to a minor league franchise.

The Pawtucket Red Sox begin their 2018 home season with an Opening Weekend, Friday, April 6 through Sunday, April 8, against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. Opening Night, at 7:05 p.m., will feature the first in a series of special free gifts for fans every Friday. Saturday and Sunday afternoon games at 1:35 p.m. complete the weekend, which starts a six-game homestand and a 140-game season in the International League.

PawSox Foundation Presents Tomorrow Fund with Donation of $21,156

The PawSox Foundation today presented $21,156 to the Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI, to help families of children who are battling cancer. The funds are generated at the PawSox' nightly "Hurl the Pearl" contest presented by six local Honda dealers.



Central Rhode Island Chamber Supports Ballpark at Slater Mill

The Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce announced its support today for the proposed Ballpark at Slater Mill. "The Chamber's Board of Directors reviewed the proposal; discussed the business model, the history of the team and leadership, the financing proposal, and the potential impact to the state. They saw this proposal as an opportunity for Rhode Island, a tool for economic development, and on the merits of the numbers an excellent opportunity. The proposal, if adopted as submitted, will create 400 jobs, encourage ancillary development to help revitalize downtown and broaden the tax base. The taxes generated by the activities at the Ballpark will repay the bonds issued." said Jo‐Ann Schofield, Chair of the Central Rhode Island Chamber Board.

Six civic organizations have now endorsed a new public ballpark that would revitalize both Downtown Pawtucket and the Blackstone Riverfront. Yesterday's endorsement by Grow Smart Rhode Island was the third this week, following the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce and the Rhode Island Building & Construction Trades Council. The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, the Rhode Island AFL-CIO, and the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce have also expressed support.

The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce today announced its support for the proposal to build a new PawSox stadium at Slater Mill in downtown Pawtucket. A new ballpark for the PawSox will accomplish three vital things: 1) it will ensure that in fast-changing times, one of the most uniquely Rhode Island institutions remains a part of our community fabric; 2) it will provide an unprecedented economic development opportunity for Pawtucket's downtown and riverfront; and 3) it will contribute new tax revenues to the state and prevent the loss of current revenues being generated at McCoy stadium if the team is forced to move out of Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island Building Trades have unanimously endorsed the proposed Ballpark at Slater Mill. President of the Building Trades Michael Sabitoni noted, "This proposal is exactly what our state needs to revitalize the Blackstone Valley and serve as an important gateway for Rhode Island. This project goes far beyond baseball; it's more than just a ballpark. The Pawtucket Red Sox and City of Pawtucket are creating a year round 'park within the park' that will provide families great entertainment for years to come.

International League Announces 2017 Awards & Postseason All-Star Team

The International League today announced its postseason All-Star Team and Award Winners as selected by the circuit's managers, coaches, media, and club representatives. The 2017 IL Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year is Lehigh Valley first baseman Rhys Hoskins, who leads the League in RBI, slugging, and runs scored. The IL's ERA leader, Steven Brault of Indianapolis, has been elected as the Most Valuable Pitcher. For the second consecutive year the IL Manager of the Year is Al Pedrique, who has his Scranton/Wilkes-Barre club back in the playoffs and ready to defend the Triple-A national championship this September.

PawSox Commit to Preserve Affordability and Family Atmosphere with "Pawsox Family Ticket Plan"

The Pawtucket Red Sox today committed to continue to keep tickets affordable in the years ahead by creating the "PawSox Family Ticket Plan" to maintain low-priced, affordable tickets. For at least the first five years in which the PawSox play in a new Pawtucket ballpark, children's tickets will remain at $6, seniors tickets will remain at $6, and adult General Admission tickets will remain at $9. Those are the current prices of tickets when purchased in advance of the day of the game.
