May Your Season Be Joyous and Bright

Happy Mother's Day All

Beautiful Spring Days

May God continue to bless each and everyone .......Have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.

Prayer Filled Monday

No Church Service Today and Superbowl Sunday

(image) Good Morning dear friends. Just wanted to say hello this blessed Sunday morning. We received a call this morning saying that church was canceled this morning due to the threat of a wintry mix here in North Carolina. So far we are seeing a little sleet but lots of rain. My hubby and I read some scriptures with the children and sung some songs of worship to our heavenly father thanking him for this day that he has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. After I get done writing this post I will be getting a few goodies together for my husband and sons for the Super Bowl tonight. We had plans to go to my in laws with the rest of the family but since the storm is here everyone decided that we should all stay home and my husband and his father, our sons, his brothers, and nephews could talk about the game via phone calls lol. My husband is a die hard Washington Redskins fan but he said that he would be rooting for the Carolina Panthers tonight because this is our home state team. So go Panthers......even though I don't care for football and do not watch it, I am glad that my husband and sons can enjoy watching sports together and will always have those memories the same has my husband and his brothers and dad did. So I will be making sure that my family has all the snacks they need (I'm making quesadillas, chips and salsa, and honey Bar Que wings) and plenty of sweet Carolina Tea lol....
Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday everyone.... PS my daughters and I may find a movie to watch in another part of the house since we don't care for football...

Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me

I was visiting a friend's blog on yesterday and her post really spoke to my heart. She had a song that I had never heard of before until then. This song really expresses how I feel about my love for our Almighty God. I thank God for continually showing me how to be content in all things and for taking care of our needs and not just our wants.
Please if you find time stop by and visit her and say hello. She has a wonderful passion for teaching and encouraging women to be the wives, mothers, friends, homemakers, etc that God called us to be. The link to her website is Teach The Younger Women. Below I have a attached the Youtube version of the song "Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me"  Music video by Bill & Gloria Gaither performing Thank You Lord for Your Blessings (feat. Jeff & Sheri Easter, Charlotte Ritchie and Vestal Goodman)

Here are the lyrics for this beauiful song:

Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me

[Verse 1]
While the world looks upon me
As I struggle along
They say I've got nothing
But they are so wrong
In my heart I'm rejoicing
How I wish they could see
Thank you Lord
For your blessing on me!

There's a roof up above me
I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord
For your blessings on me!

[Verse 2]
I know I'm not wealthy
These clothes, they're not new
I don't have much money
But Lord I have you
And that's all that matters
Though the world may not see
Thank you Lord
For your blessings on me!

There's a roof up above me
I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord
For all your blessings on me!

Winter Storm Jonas Heading Our Way

Hello everyone...  .
For all of you that have known me for a while my family and I live in North Carolina. We are gearing up for a big and unusual snow and ice storm by the name of Jonas. Most years we just get traces of snow here on the eastern side of the Carolinas but we are right in its path this time. Governor Pat McCrory is already calling for a state of emergency for NC. We are not only getting snow we are getting lots of ice with this storm. Due to my husband's line of work he will still have to go to work in this so please say a prayer for his safety. The kids and I have finished homeschooling for today and have went to the grocery store to stalk up on a few things. I have been making sure all the laundry is done. My husband and I do not normally heat with kerosene heaters (we have central heating and air) but we did go and purchase a kerosene heater along with the container to store the kerosene in and a pump so that if the power goes out here we will still have heat for warmth, light and to my understanding cook on the one that we purchased. We can warm up things like beans and spaghetti O's etc. We purchased bottle water and candles. The heater is something that we thought was a good investment because we have a feeling this year we will see more ice and snow this year due to El Nino. The storm will be coming in tonight and is suppose to end on Saturday evening. So please say a prayer for all of the states involved. I will keep you all posted as soon as I can.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving To All

I pray that everyone had a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving. Always remember do not just be thankful on this day November 26 but give thanks to the Almighty God each and every Single day because God is worthy of our praises.

Making Your Home A Fall Challenge

Hello dear blogging friends I am so excited that my friend Courtney is having her 6 Annual  Fall Challenge again over at her blog   Women Living Well  and I definitely will be participating.......Each week Courtney will give you one practical tip and one spiritual tip that you can do to create a haven in your home. This challenge will begin next Wednesday October 7th and run through the month of October. Here is what Courtney has to say about her Fall Challenge: Welcome to the 6th Annual “Making Your Home a Haven” Fall Challenge! If you’ve been around a while – you know all about this series and might already have your candle going right now!  I can’t believe we have been doing this for 6 years – it’s been such a life changer!I have been lighting my candle all winter, spring and summer long. It’s my daily habit to light my kitchen candle and then say a prayer for peace in our home.Oh friends, we don’t want to just read God’s word – we want to live out God’s word in our homes first and then outside the home where God has planted us.This challenge is all about living out the word of God within the four walls of our home. Each week I will give you one practical tip and one spiritual tip that you can do to create a haven in your home.Is your calendar full? Do you feel tense, rushed and even panicked at times? Do you feel like the rest of the family is feeling the same way?I believe we can create a physical environment, as well as a spiritual environment, that can bring peace, harmony and a sense of calmness to our homes if we are willing to be intentional. This challenge will run through the month of October on Wednesdays and this video I use yearly, explains the heart and plan behind it.  If you’ve never watched it – please do and if you have but need a refresher course – check it out again!  I hope it blesses you! width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>(you can’t see the video: click here)“The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.” ~ Proverbs 14:1Here’s the topic schedule:Week 1: October 7th -Go buy an extra large candle and light a candle everyday in your home.I will be starting mine in the morning but you can start yours at dinner time or whenever is convenient for you. Bust out some old fashioned games and take the time to savor these moments with your loved ones.Live out the fruit of the Spirit of kindness and joy this week.Week 4: October 28th – Focus on the kitchen, the heart of the home.Cook things with pleasant aromas like homemade bread, pies, and cookies. Anyone Out There I am Still Around

Hello everyone, I'm still around. Life has been busy for the Barnes family so many different changes. My eldest son will be graduating from our homeschool co-op group in 2016 which will host our county's homeschool graduation. My sweet Kenzie is starting preschool with me this year. My eldest daughter is a junior and the twins are in the eight grade. We are still homeschool and we will start back on the 24th of this month.  We had our annual family vacation. This year we went to Tennessee. We had church obligations,  family reunions just good old family fun. So hopefully as the weather cools downs we will slow down.  I still pray for everyone each and everyday and please do the same for my family. Hopefully I will be back soon to fill you in on some updates including working a temporary job for a season.  So over that now, my full time job is homemaking and I love it.  So I am back home and loving it. I will do a later post about it soon. Love you all.

God Bless All Women

Happy Mother's Day moth·erˈməT͟Hər/noun1.a woman in relation to a child or children to whom she has given birth.synonyms:female parent,verb2. bring up (a child) with care and affection."the art of mothering"I would like to say Happy Mother's Day to each and everyone. To me you do not have to physically give birth to be a mother.  Just like the above definition of  mother states you have given birth to a child and have or had raised and love your child or if you have took care of others children and loved them as your own then you are a mother. Remember to celebrate motherhood and womanhood each and everyday...God bless you all.[...]

Spending Time Along With God

Hello everyone. I just wanted to take that time today to reflect on the goodness of Christ. In the above picture we see Jesus holding a little child and to me this picture represent Jesus holding us in his lap and rocking and comforting us like a small child. If everyone would take time to stop during their busy schedules and days and listen you can hear him whispering in your ears, tell you that he loves you and that you belong to him. Have you ever just stood outside in the rain and let the rain beat down on your face while looking towards heaven, or have you maybe just stood in the sun and let the beams shine on your face? Well Christ is touching you in a special and magical way, letting you know that he is real and that he cares for you and he wants to provide for you if you let him.
There is no greater joy then to have Christ on the inside of you, leading you, guiding you, and just watching over you and your family. God makes no mistakes, everything he does is done for a reason and we may not see it at that time but he holds our future in the palm of his hand. So take time out everyday to be reminded that we have nothing to fear because our father is awesome and wonderful, and sometimes when you see your sister or brother (in God's eye sight we are all family) in trouble if you can lend a helping hand, make a sacrifice Why? you ask well because God made a sacrifice he sent us has only begotten son so that whosoever believed in him shall not perish. He sent Jesus here to carry our burdens and sins, now that is great all by itself, but yet in still God is still blessing you and your family. There is nothing great that we have done, but God still makes time for each and everyone of us. Give God time every single day no matter what season of life you are in.So hold on to his promise and live your life in Christ and God will handle the rest be blessed.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone

"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." John 15:12 KJV.

May we love one another today and everyday of the year like our Lord asked us to do.

This Is The Day That The Lord Has Made.......

This is the  day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24New King James Version (NKJV)

Hello to all of my dear blogging friends. I just wanted to stop in and say hello. It's a rainy and stormy weekend here on the Eastern coast of the Carolinas. As I sit and drink my coffee and mediate on God's word this morning and watching the rain the verse above spoke to my soul. Sometimes when we have a storm in our lives or maybe a few storms in our lives we sometimes forget to stop and pray. There is no storm that God can not fix. No matter what you or I go through God still is in the mist. . I just wanted to encourage anyone  reading my post today that God is able and he would do just what he said he would do don't ever give up the fight just watch and  pray because your help is always on the way ..........until next time just know God is Love.

morning on

It's the Fall Fair Time Here in Our Town

Hello dear blogging friends. We are off to our towns Fall fair tomorrow. The kids are so excited. This is something we love to do every year as a family. It has not mattered what town we have lived in, we have always prayed that they have a Fall fair. Oh how the children are looking forward to the rides, all of the gooey sweet treats that you can only get this time of year when someone else makes it and not mom lol. They love  candied apples, cotton candy, roasted corn on the grill etc. My husband is looking forward to the tractor pulls and the livestock showings. I myself is looking forward to the pie contest (which I did enter my pumpkin pie this year) and I am looking forward too all of the live stock as well, and all of the different farm and quilt exhibits. So I am off to get everything ready to take with us. May you have a wonderful and blessed weekend.

Schools Is Back in Session

Hello to you all. As I told you on yesterday we have had a wonderful summer and now school will be back in session. My family and I use to home school year round and then take off about three weeks and then start back. Now for about the last year or so we have been taking the summer off. Now we have decided to start school back after Labor day. So tomorrow is the big day. I have been preparing now for about two weeks. (I had already order the curriculum for this year back when the summer was starting) I now have a a 10th grader, a 9th grader, the twins are 6 graders and little Kenzie will just be helping mommy and coloring as well as learning as she goes. .  For our curriculum we will be using Christian Light which includes language arts and math. For the older two we will be trying Son light curriculum for high school. Which consist  of some world history and reading. We will continue to do our Bible studies and the girls are still learning home making skills. This year my son is learning about construction work because he will be working two days a week with our neighbor who owns his own small construction  business . So we are off to a great start.  We will go to the YMCA on Wednesdays for rec time as well as spending time outside. Michael in town will be were we go for art on Thursday. So with that been said this is just a small summary of what we will be up too for this year's schooling. I will hopefully be doing a post on each child's individual schedule and a video post of our school day . Have a wonderful and happy Labor day and may God bless you all.

The Bible Series On The History Channel

Hello dear friends. It has been awhile since I have wrote a new post but like I said in my last post my family and I have really been busy and blogging has been something that I have just not made time for. But I am working it in lol. But I was just wondering did anyone else and there families watch the Bible series last night on the history channel. It was so good. My family and I popped popcorn and watch the whole thing from start to finish. I was just wondering if any of you did watch it and did you and your family enjoy the whole thing. It was so good to my family and I that we decided to DVR the whole series to watch again later. I think that next part of the series comes on next Sunday, but I am not sure so I will have to check and see. It was produced by Roma Downey from "Touch by an Angel" (which was one of my favorite shows) and her husband (the producer of the show the Voice). Here is the Introduction video with Roma Downey and her husband Mark Burnett and also The premiere of the mini series. Enjoy and have a wonderful and blessed week dear friends.

Jesus Is Our Strong Tower

I was listening to this song  after we were finished with home school for today and I had started to do laundry. We are preparing for winter weather here in North Carolina which is supposed to be here about 10 pm tonight. But as I was cleaning and making sure the house was stocked with what we needed I was listening to this sing "You are Jesus" by Patrick Dopson and I just listened to it over and over again. This song means alot to me because Jesus is our strong tower, our hope and our future with out him there is nothing. So if you get the chance really listen to the words and mediate on God's goodness. allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="315" src="" width="420"> You are Jesus. You're my strong tower- Jesus. My strength this hour- Jesus. You’re my deliverer- Yes you are-Jesus. My hope and my future JesusSource and my shelter- Jesus. You’re my savior, keeper my friendLord, I need you to take my hand and see me throughwooooAnd now I need your grace, to find that place, you call me to. You crafted me in secrecy and I know there’s plans that you have for me.Protect me from my enemies I know that you will rescue me as I rest in you, you will keep me.You are Jesus. You're my strong tower -Jesus. My strength this hour- Jesus. Yes you are, you’re my deliverer- yeah JesusMy hope and my future JesusMy source and my shelter- Jesus. Yes you are, Yes you are- My savior, keeper my friendYes you are!You will finish what you startedComplete what you’ve begunThough the enemy has lied and said I’m doneBut I know you better than that. You’ve kept me safe this far. It’s time for you to show just who you are. Cause you are JesusYou're my strong tower- Jesus. My strength this hour- Jesus. Lord, You’re my deliverer- JesusMy hope and my future JesusMy source and my shelter- Jesus. Yes you are my savior ,keeper You're my strong tower- Jesus. My strength this hour- Jesus. Oh and day to day, you’ll never changeEvery day remains the sameMy hope and my futureMy source and my shelter- JesusOh oh oh, My savior and keeper my friend (repeat)There is not a friend like the lowly JesusSavior, keeper my friendWhat a friend we have in Jesusyou’re my savior, keeper my friendOn for God is so worthy of all of our praise. He is the author and the finisher of our faith. No matter what season we are in in life God is there. Just look to heaven where your health comes from. All our health cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth. Oh my friends I just am overwhelmed how good he is to me. Not saying that I don't have bad days, but through those days I know he is holding me and rocking me and telling me I am his own. May you all have a blessed afternoon and rest of the week and I will see you soon.[...]
