RSS - Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery
Back on September 25, 2008 I received a Google alert about a blog post that mentioned Feedage.com. When I read this particular post I was very surprised to read the someone was going to build a RSS aggregator like Feedage.com but better. There are many aggregators out there and one more did not bother me. But when I looked at the site and saw the resemblance to Feedage.com I got a chuckle out of it. I figured imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
If you look at the two sites you will see many similarities. Here are some specific similarities:

Today I was working on Feedage.com, trying to make sure our users are getting the best exposure and service possible, I came across a new site by the same person who created the Feedage.com clone. The name of the site is html2rss.com. The funny part is in March of this year (2009) Feedage.com created a tool called , you guessed it, html2rss. I first thought maybe html2rss.com was first and that we somehow used their name. A quick check with `whois` says `it aint so`. html2rss.com was register on may 8th 2009.
So we are back to “Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery”.
There is one area he does not seem to have duplicated:
I wonder what he will copy from us next?
